Are there any Pheaders that can help me trace my dads DB5? he bought it in Leeds (from new I think). I have pictures but the registration number only shows the last four digits on the plate.
Those are **T 764B the second digit may be U.
Would love to be reunited to see it again. He drove me to school in it.
Thanks

Do you think your father might have been a member of the owners club (any badge visible in the photographs) ?
AMOC love keeping historical records, so there might be a possibility there.
They will know how many were registered in 1964.

The oracle states 66 registered now, and 14 SORN (1964 cars). There might be more in the UK, because you do not need a SORN, if off the road before a particular date.

We like reassigning registration marks, so that might create a problem of course.

Wonder if AM Works have ever had dealings with the car?
Perhaps have a coffee with Simon. Oh hold on, perhaps not a good idea. - wink

Wow guys! Thanks great info..
YES it looks like CUT as the first three letters.
I wonder then, sadly if its been exported thats where the trail runs cold. Hopefully to Europe and not Australia! as I would travel to find it.
Repect to your knowledge.

It's still around, saw it a few years ago in Portland Oregon. Been fully restored and well looked after. Dark Blue from what I recall and still RHD. Owned by AMOC club member at the time.

At least it doesn't look as though it has been sprayed Silver Birch.

It looks beautiful.

Is that the same original colour that you remember, Paulo ?

The present owner (AMOC member), might be interested to hear about your own memories of the car, and perhaps would like to have copies of the early photographs, for the car's history folder.

Presumably AMOC would be happy to pass on a letter to the present owner.

Glad that you now have the answer. A real long shot, but answered within half a day.

Yes that's the same colour from when he bought it. It was always dark blue pleased it's the same. I have some original photos that were taken in 1966/67 I believe, with it parked outside our house in Horsforth near Leeds. Amazing feedback guys, big pat on the back. Only wish it was nearer. Still delighted to hear it's used.

Yes Espada, he had a Jensen Interceptor after the DB5. Of all the cars the DB5 is obviously the one thats of most interest.
I think the DB5 looks in far better condition now!

Sorry for a long delay in my submission to this forum, but my mum was reading the forums and has just found your posting. The DB5 you were enquiring about was owned by my father from 1974 or 75 until 1982, when he sold it to a friend, who in turn owned it for a number of years in the 80’s. I have a number of pictures of the car and very fond memories. Please don’t hesitate to PM me if it would fill in some gaps. Kind Regards
