I missed the track day requirements. You can forget my 2 tonne suggestion
Your SL looks bloody lovely mind you! Those wheels are perfect on the SL I reckon.
They are 19s fitted to the SL65 AMG as standard and to the SL55 AMG with the Performance Pack option.
For under 15k something like this is a good option.

The rest of your cash can be spent on trackdays & running it

Noble M12.
Can't beat it for performance / looks / price.
For your budget you'll get a sorted earlier 2.5 with all the tasteful required mods done, or if you're lucky a 3.0.
They're rare as hens teeth though and appreciating all the time.
If you get a 3.0 litre then they're 350bhp standard. Easily tunable up to 600bhp (or beyond!!) depending on how deep your pockets are.
The 2.5 litre is 310bhp standard, and tunable to 380bhp before you consider the 3.0 engine is more appropriate.
Expect TVR running costs.
