Interested in this as well.

Been quoted £335/month for S-line Avant A6 ultra s-tronic on PCP (with £4.5k up front) but would like to see a good lease option.

Nice thing about the current A6 is that it is very well spec'd as standard so no need to break the golden rule. Even the standard brilliant black paint is quite nice.
I also had a quote for A6 Saloon SE Exec including Tech Pack Advanced for £392 on a 3 + 36. Decided against that now though.

Is the S Line worth the extra £20 over the Ultra SE Executive?

That's not true. My Golf showed up on my credit report when I remortgaged.
I can confirm this is true, I recently ran up an Experian credit report which has my leases on it...

I think the difference is with that PCP the entire cost of the car is against you on your credit record, but with PCH it's just the monthly payments? (IIRC??)

Please can you post details / links?

If 10 people are interested in your post then 10 people have to go and do all that work themselves, whereas if you post it up originally, only you need to do it, saving others time and effort.

If everyone does it, overall effort expended is lower and the world has more time to be getting on with other things!

That would make sense, I ran my Experian last week and my Golf had outstanding balance that equated to my monthly payment x remaining months.

It's based on the amount of credit, so a lease should generally be lower than a PCP/HP.

I agree with the sentiment however, you could equally have followed your own sentiment and done it yourself. smile

Here you go:

£1790 + 23 @ £249 = £7,517 (27% of list price)
10k miles

Amortised £313 pm

So I've been doing it the traditional way and saving up cash to hopefully buy a Mk5 GTI. But, I wouldn't mind a new S3... does it not feel weird not owning a car after all of the payments? Then starting a new lease... kind of gets you stuck in a loop.

I'm 25, self-employed and don't have a mortgage yet. It would be a lot more sensible buying an older GTI with cash wouldn't it?
My opinion only - get yourself on the property ladder first then think about leasing brand new cars. Ultimately though it's your cash - I'm just speaking from experience.

Moving on - that Focus ST Line lease deal from Fleet Prices is very good. Can't seem to find any cheaper deals. Good spec too.

It does appear on your credit report (mine does). The total commitment of the lease cost is on there. Granted it's a lot lower than the amount of a PCP so that's a good thing.

My lease doesn't appear on my credit report - that actually created more of a problem when applying for a mortgage because I disclosed the commitment but the mortgage company couldn't see it on my credit file. A good broker assisted me greatly; he did say that because of the inconsistency it's a bit of a minefield as to how mortgagees view a lease. No doubt as personal leasing becomes more common it'll become less of an issue.

I would say so.

Have you test driven the car?

The S-line Sports seats are much more comfortable than the standard SE ones (in my opinion), they are also electrically adjustable with memory and heated. You also get a few extras like Valcona leather, full LED headlights, headlight washers, high-beam assist, electric/heated/memory door mirrors + you can specify sport suspension rather than S-line as a free option = better handling without much loss of comfort.

The seats are worth the extra £20 alone to me.

Having a new car ever 2 years, not needing a huge deposit each time and paying less than the depreciation would have been should you have purchased it (if you're savvy) is quite addictive!

I was under the impression Sline suspension is the lower/harder and the sport option is to appease those who don't like the Sline ride (as the sport suspension comes from the lower sport spec)

that's correct.

Perhaps I didn't word it very well but that was the point that I was trying to make.

SE - dynamic set up (comfort)
S-line - option of Sport or S-line, with Sport being a little more comfortable but offering improved handling over the SE.

I've not tried the S-line suspension but the Sport set up in an S-line spec was very good.

I would have gone for it had it been £20, but turned out to be £50 a month more. So just opted for SE Exec.

Looks like a decent deal to me depending on what the admin fee is.

Any chance of any sportback deals arriving soon?

£2750 difference in price so £50 probably fair enough.

When I tried the two it seemed that you sit on rather than in the SE seats, with the S-line ones being much more supportive.

I'm a fairly hefty ex rugby player with a knackered back so seat fitting/comfort is usually my number one consideration.

Problem being - I am driving a V70 at the moment and every time I get back in it after test driving something the Volvo just makes all other seats feel rubbish.

Tried driving a Freelander 2 for a couple of months and spent more with the physio than I did at the pump so £50 would probably still swing it for me.
