Hi all,

Long time lurker and looking at this thread with more interest now my A4 is heading back at the end of the year.

Heads up to those looking at the fleet prices Leon, I enquired yesterday and the deal is real, however it's Mid-Feb delivery.

I'm test driving the Giulia Veloce at the weekend, current front runner for me!

If you can, wait till 02/10 and see if VW is offering anything at discounted price. It's not long now. Someone posted in July that cars for October campaign were ordered so they may have something with short delivery time.

With PCH it's just cost of the lease. On your credit report it will show as lease or operating lease and only total cost over the term will be listed. Finance company will be registered keeper and owner of the car.
With PCP you have whole value of the instalments + optional final payment. You're registered keeper of the car and have its documents.

The Guilia deal ends at the end of September, so in a bit of a predicament on that one. Have VW historically released good deals start of Oct (My current A4 deal was probably then...)?

It's more like £286 when the initial payment + fees are taken into account. Monthly payments are somewhat misleading if the initial payment is not amortised.

At the beginning of every quarter last few quarters. Last quarter, brokers posted what will be released couple of days before, however only Golf R estate was included then.
In my opinion Guilia has good spec, drives well and it's quieter inside. I tested both Golf R and Guilia Veloce. Go for a test drive and see if you like it. Another thing: Guilia won't be desirable to thieves the way Golf R is. It's a bit niche car.

If you are OK with a pre-registered 17 plate there are a few cars kicking around which will fit your budget I think. Most of them are 3 Door manuals though there may be a few 5 doors too. As an example a 3 door is about £305 per month on a 9+23 PCH.

Thanks, good to know. Only thing that is putting me off the Veloce is although it's a good looking car it doesn't look that special compared to a standard one, particularly not a fan of the standard 18" wheels. Will see if the test drive wins me over.

If I lease a car via VWFS, are they supposed to be listed on any insurance policy as both the owner and keeper of the vehicle?

Most online forms will have an option of "finance/lease company" as owner. You are keeper.

If the online form is confusing or doesn't have the right options, give them a call afterwards to make sure they've got it noted properly.

Any idea what the real world mpg figures are like on the 2.0TSI engine used by VW Group?

I'm tempted by the Skoda OCTAVIA 2.0TSI 245 VRS but I'm thinking it will probably double my fuel costs.
