I now it's included in price but when I look at the total cost over the term, I decide if it's good or bad. I definitely wouldn't want to pay extra £450 next year for Road Tax.
Particularly as you would already have paid for it. Exactly like if you were the registered keeper.

That raised suspension and high seating position looks perfect for dithering to the shops at 27mph, paying zero attention to the improved view while chatting to your friend about the next door neighbours, dropping the kids right outside the school gate, and never driving it when its wet or snowing because it's so 'dangerous' outside.
Beautiful collection of cliches and assumptions!

What are your thoughts on this?

Nearly 2 weeks ago, I agreed to a new lease vehicle via a dealer over email and for them to send over the documents. They promptly came back with a form to complete for affordability and to run a credit check, I completed this and signed that it was OK to run the credit check. This form made no reference to the car or the deal I agreed to. A few hours later they replied that I passed (wasn't expecting not to) and that a car has been ordered and that they will be in touch with the agreement documents to sign and a delivery date. I have yet to receive this. I have chased and they said they are still waiting. This seems a little odd to me...

The fact the car was ordered off the back of a credit check seems odd and the suspiciously long wait for the actual agreement compounds this...

Pretty normal. Phone them. A lot of automated systems out there. You haven't committed to anything

Looking at my first lease. If I'm trying to hit the 25% mark. Is that the measure over 2yr? 3yr? Or any term?
2 years, 10k miles per annum
For a 3yr/10k? 30%

Thanks. I thought it as strange that they would order the car without me officially confirming it, makes me think they are going to try and change the terms after the cooling off period and I am going to end up with a fight on my hands. It is a rather good deal, working out at just under 20% for 2 years for a Volvo S90.

There's a bigger risk to the dealer/broker because you can resign any time, losing your admin fee or deposit and they have to re-sell the car. You will get documents to sign when car is in the country and prepared for delivery/collection.

Sat waiting for a test drive in the Alfa. Worst places to be on a sat morning. Very nice indeed.

The issue is I now want the giulia quadrifoglio which I can never afford. Ah :-(

Interested to hear your thoughts on the Veloce. I'm very tempted myself - not sure if it'd work to carry my daughter's paraphernalia around though. It's either that or a Cupra / Golf R estate...

Yes I had Blade Skoda in Bristol match the cheap Fleet Prices deals for the Octavia 1.4 (zZzZ) but in the end I went with the 1.5 as the 1.4 lead times weren't entirely forthcoming from the Fleet Prices supplying dealer.

Just got back from test driving an Octavia vRS. Was 'only' the TDi version, but gave me an impression of what to expect with the 245. Nice motor.

The dealer won't be getting a 245 in until next month, so I'm going to try my luck and hold off until I can get behind the wheel of one, before pulling the trigger on a lease.

Risky game as these lease deals are short lived so you need to act fast to secure the price.

I would just buy without a test drive if I were you. Or try a Golf GTI PP to get a feel for the engine if you really need to smile

I recently ordered a golf R during a decent price sale. Had to back out in the end, but the process was the same via VW garage. They were easy going with me when I cancelled the order, but did find a replacement to take it over.

So whilst a bit unstructured seems normal.

A couple more bits of info for the people looking at the Veloce -

The options below are not on the online configurator yet but I think are available to order - if you can get delivery with these options before end of December I think you can add them

If you want Front and Rear sensors get the Driver Assistance pack. You also get rear reverse camera. The climate pack may be useful as its not too expensive - you get the rear USB port - I would have used this to wire up my dashcam.
Hi Maniac886,

Where abouts did you get the above pic from. Just been speaking to Sturgess Alfa and they don’t seem to have the Car Play/Android Auto option visible on their system?

Thanks

What did you think? I've just been and done the same thing - really liked it. Seemed a really nice place to sit, steering was light with plenty of feedback and it had plenty of grunt. Only downside was the sat nav looked shocking.

Anyone know if a new driver can be put on a lease car? Looking for a first car for my son with a provisional licence - usual 1st cars are pretty rubbish and saw a cheap lease for a ds3 1.2

Was wondering if i take out the lease in my name, whether there are any restrictions on who can drive it - obviously telling the lease company and insuring it correctly
