Usually the car cannot be used for tuition, so whilst on a provisional the learner cannot drive it at all.

Get what you're saying, I do, and the "deal" I'm looking at expires on 30th September so time really isn't on my side.

Having said that, I could wait a few months and bank enough for a sizeable deposit and just buy one. I need to sleep on it, I think.

What did you think? I've just been and done the same thing - really liked it. Seemed a really nice place to sit, steering was light with plenty of feedback and it had plenty of grunt. Only downside was the sat nav looked shocking.

So for me the car inside is lovely. Really smart and neat. Nice place to be. The car in the front and rear has loads of room. I had my 6.2 teenager in it and had loads of room. Driving. Lively at low rpm, picks up quickly. Took the car for a good 20 min drive. Had it hmmm above 70. Well above. Round lots of bends etc. the car is planted. The 50/50 weight distribution is really nice. Steering spot on. Direct. Not to light. Gets lots of feed back from it. Loved it.

Only issues for me are that the car is too quiet. Can barely hear it regardless of where it is in the rev range. Even off the limiter I could not hear it. Really disappointed. Would like a growl or a spot of over run burble. If you want a fast car. Handles really well. Is large inside for the family. Well finished. This is the one for you.

I think 30% would be very good for a 3yr deal, 40% (or even more??) is probably more likely to be what you'll find on most deals.

Just received my finance docs for my Audi 1.4 A4 and Audi are offering their maintenance plan for about £12 per month or maintenance and tyres for £16 per month.

My deal is 2 years, 10,000.

Anybody any opinions on whether this is good deal (obviously depends how many tyres you go through etc) but I thought the maintenance deal was quite good, considering Select were twice this cost when I signed up for the deal.

Any thoughts?

That sounds reasonable for the maintenance plan, is it likely that you will go through a set of tyres in 20k?

As a guide for the tyres I had an Exeo TDI 140 ( previous Gen A4 with A6 front suspension) and the fronts lasted 30k and rears 50k. Mainly motorways and industrial estates, so unless you live in Milton Keynes, or somewhere else where you can expect more tyre wear I'd guess your tyres will still be legal at 20k.
If not, stick part worns on for the rest of the lease.

You will need 1 service before the 2 years is up. call the dealer and ask how much the first service is.

ETA : VWFS did this with my lease, £45 a month when original quote came through, I'm paying £22 for tyres and mainenance. Beware it will affet your excess mileage rate as well though.

This is only a decent metric when applied to transaction at the max discount - list prices have become quite irrelevant and inconsistent in their reflection of "value" so if you use that as basis then you keep the same opacity.

When I got A8 paperwork from VWFS, there's was an offer of £16 maintenance (without tyres) per month x23 = £368. It was not bad but depending on dealership, first service could be cheaper. Also 3 years service plan for A8 is £350.

I'm buying service plan, in case I keep the car for 3 year or clock more than 20K miles. Of course there was an issue with service plan and I was initially told it's only for factory order so quick email with link to Audi website sorted it and got the plan documents sent. There were similar issues 2 years ago with service plan for S8 when people were told it's excluded but it wasn't at the time (it is now).

Disadvantage of maintenance is higher excess miles charge, so it's not worth taking if someone expects or plan to exceed total contracted mileage.

Regareding tyres, I still have original tyres on Audi S8 at 20K miles, so average driver in standard Audi should achieve similar results. Unless of course someone is racing from every traffic lights and does 90-100% of city driving.
