..so what is the best 1+23 deal out there that anyone has seen??
What sort of car and mileage are you looking for?
Generally very flexible, value for money is probably the key factor, long commute so decent strong diesel engine would be great. I do spend around 250£ in diesel in my super economical Skoda octavia mk2 (60mpg real life without fail) and I could charge electric car at work for free, so even that may be an option?
£250 a month at £1.20/litre = ~46 gallons.
46 gallons * 60mpg = 2778 miles per month = 33k miles per year.

Is that correct?

There are very few 30k deals posted (or on the market?) and those that are on the websites are usually somewhat more expensive than the bargain-tastic 8k/2yr offers that pop up in this thread.

For example, Octavia is well supported at the moment and has pretty low pricing for what is a fairly substantial car that's likely to be good for long distance commuting.
https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Skoda...

The 1.0 TSi version is cheapest and only £165.54 on a 3+23/8k/2yr lease on this website, but up it to 35k miles (to cover a very small amount of non-commuting use as well) and it becomes £273.91/month on a 3+23.
https://www.nationwidevehiclecontracts.co.uk/Skoda...

EDIT: Actually, now I've written it down, £273 seems cheap for that mileage - the 1.6TDi is £458 on the same basis!

Well calculated! It is in reality a little bit less, about 23k a year work commute and 5-7k frequent trips to the coast for regular dose of adrenalin with kitesurfing crew..
Seems it would be best to run the old MK2 into the ground..it has 310k KM on the clock but runs like the day we got it from the in laws.. we own the second household car (Amarok) so I could do the weekend mileage in it..but yes, 20k deal is a must for me ..

Currently looking for an SUV for my mum, what do people think of this GLE offer? Seems like a good deal on a £50k+ car

Looks quite good, after a similar deal myself.
Page has gone. How much was it?
3+23
8k PA
409.99 inc VAT

Something you could match Fast Bug?

Word of warning for those with VWFS contracts. Phoned Audi to add 5k miles midway through our Audi A4 1.4 deal and they’ve come back with a total cost of £287.90 + £60 admin fee. Taking into account the fee it works out at exactly 7p per mile which is hardly cheaper than the 7.2p excess charge!

I think perhaps try again. From what I can gather it depends on how you ask them for the extra miles and who you get through too.

When I was going to add more to my Tiguan last year, it worked out to be circa 3p per mile.

That's a really good deal, especially on a 3+23.

The E Class and C Class deals are available without admin fee though

I phoned them and they emailed a quote about a week later with the new payments for the remaining term. Is this what happened with you?

That raised suspension and high seating position looks perfect for dithering to the shops at 27mph, paying zero attention to the improved view while chatting to your friend about the next door neighbours, dropping the kids right outside the school gate, and never driving it when its wet or snowing because it's so 'dangerous' outside.
Beautiful collection of cliches and assumptions!
Apologies - I had a run of morons doing forty fking mph along empty, sweeping-but-lacking-overtaking-opportunities A-roads last week, so I was in a bad mood.

Maybe "promo" has ended and they decided they will charge customer standard excess fee specified in contract. After all it's business and they have to claw back some money from cheap offers.

Any interesting 1+23 or 1+36 leases out there? Looking for something to replace a Seat Leon FR.

I too had the same higher quote for an extra 20k miles over the term. They came back with an extra £1094.00 inc vat over 10 months to cover the extra mileage we will have done over the term. Was hoping for the 3.5p deal but that seems to be history.

I updated mine mid-August - they asked what my current mileages was (14000 over what it should have been !!) and they offered me a re-calculation, which equated to 3.2p per mile.

They refer to it as a "Post Activation Mileage Rewrite" - and you are only allowed one adjustment per 12 months, have to have a certain number of months left on the contract and be a certain number of months into the contract.

Edit - I forgot the admin fee of £60 - which brings the per mile adjustment to 3.6p

Also worth calling VWFS if you're under your mileage allowance after a year into your deal in case anyone's in that boat. I called them in March and said my mileage is less than the 10k PA deal I was on - asked for recalculation based on 5K per year and it reduced my monthlies on my A4 from £141 to £99.

Cheers for the tip , I am way under my allowance and will be handing mine back early as well. May ask them to reduce my monthlies as well so when I hand back the total fees should be less.

Interesting, I am well under my mileage. I moved (unforeseen) a lot closer to my place of work and therefore the mileage significantly reduced. I have a lease deal with Synergy - anyone have any experience of being able to recalculate mileage with them before I give them a call in the morning?

Tried same with Seat Finance, which I thought was VWFS, and they said they couldn’t reduce.

Adding metallic paint to the Veloce bumps up the price by about £600 going by the conversation I just had:

8k miles
3+23
£300.77 Inc vat

10k miles
3+23
£317.92

Excess mileage is 20.2p a mile, so pretty steep, but still seems cheaper to go for 8k and pay the difference based on numbers above.

Needs to be ordered by end of Sept
Delivery expected end of Nov/Dec

I'm quite tempted, but can't decide what to do!
Are those quotes including metallic?

I saw this and wondered about the advisability of turning up to work in a better car than the FD's...
