If you want something else buy something else, if you don't don't. I've decided to invest in my 350z rather than think of soemthing newer as I can't find anything that interests me for similar money and I also don't go for leasing etc. If anyone moans just say "yeah but mines fun"....
Goodness, what a sad tale. Give yourself a slap.
Either stick with the MX5 or, in order to feel equal, then you really only have three options and need to get a black Jag, black 7 Series or a black Cayenne.
If these guys are so shallow as to judge you by the car then….
The Jag driver, although swayed by tacky and gimmicky interiors, will feel that driving an Indian bankrolled Brit makes him superior to Fritz. Blitz, they don't like it up 'em, 1966 and all that.
The 7 Series driver, secretly bitter than he couldn’t have the superior S Class, will believe that the Jag driver must earn a lot of frequent AA caller loyalty points, and that it's a shame that the Cayenne owner couldn’t afford a proper Porsche.
The Cayenne owner, frustrated in the knowledge that really he only has a Touareg in drag, will wonder how on earth the other two can actually work on a development site if they don’t have a 4x4.
Nearly everyone behind a wheel has a prejudice and is judgemental on others in some way. Apart from war, the road is the strangest social melting pot there has ever been.
Ignore it.
Your final sentence is what really matters - preserve your credit rating and savings. That will be worth far more to you than changing a car.

Put a sensible ageless plate on it and it's an anonymous 2 seater that isn't too showy nor too poverty.

Man up buddy. Who honestly gives a f&*k what you drive. I'd be more concerned whether can you do the job you're being paid to do. Infact the sttier the car the more I'd know the person is rock solid sure of themselves.
Very noble, but sadly life doesn't really work like that.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
