Cloudy looking spoiler

Hi there,

My rear spoiler has taken on the faded cloudy look obviously it is exposure to sunlight as the underside looks like new.Now is this a case of now and again just rubbing some 3in1 oil on it to give it that glossy look or is there something that can be done to get it back to looking like new ? strip back lacquer etc ?.

Just polish it and then wax.

Do not strip back the laquer as the weave underneath is wafer thin.Very easy to go through it

Happened to mine when I had it. Apparently the lacquer isn't uv rated hence the sun will cause cloudy/milky discolouration. Jetstream stripped the lacquer and managed to take some of the fading out then re-lacquered which had a uv rating. Looked a little better afterwards, depends how bad it is I expect? John

Have you tryed 1500/2000 grit wet and dry sandpaper on a orbital sander?

Buff with cutting paste and polish.

I think I may just try the polish and wax method are there any preferences polish and wax?.I suppose an alternative option is just to have it colour coded in with car

I give a wipe over with household furniture polish (with beeswax) after every wash (you wouldn't believe the dirt on the paper towels afterwards)... If its faded I would try a cutting compound (paste) in a small area underneath to see how that affects, if good do the whole wing, then polish up with normal car wax then if needed furniture polish.

Mine was always pretty good fortunately but Matt @ JS sanded it back to the carbon layer and then re-lacquered it for me, it's almost perfect now really happy with it

I had same prob cloudy rear spoiler so I had it carbon wrapped 👍
