987 Spyder anyone know this car
Discussion
Hi all
Newbie here. Having just sold a garage toy I am now on the lookout for something to replace it...hence whittled down to manual 987 Spyder which I think ticks all the boxes for me. Question is, a white car I am considering for sale at FA Roper has multiple (5) owners in its relatively short lifespan and clearly difficult to trace its provenance. Before I make the 4 hour trip wanted to glean any further info I can.
I do know it was sold by Paragon in April this year and has now had the wheels painted back to silver. Anyone know of any history of this car? I believe the reg is LY11 EEP?
Appreciate any input on how people think 5 owners would affect values and also any info on car. Finally of course if any of you fine ladies or gents have a manual sport bucket PSE car that you are thinking of selling..do please let me know.
Thanks
Ant

Was looking at this just the other day .
The car I just bought is identical except I have black wheels .
Really cracking cars and I believe only 237 uk cars were ever registered .
Can't see the mileage but looks perfect .
I wouldn't hang about on it personally as the spec is spot on.
Maybe if you strike the deal insist it goes through an independent inspection .
Good luck

Thanks - yes it does look nicely specced, 21k miles I guess just a bit hesitant about the 5 owners, but a good inspection should help with any fears I guess. You think the price is fair all things considered?
From a dealer I'd say very fair.Don't be concerned about the amount of owners. I've had lots of cars with multiple owners, with these cars IMO it comes down to history.
The last owner of my car had it 3 months then had to sell ahead of imminent GT3 arrival.
I know him well also.
My car is almost identical as I said although has 22 months Porsche warranty and recent major service .
Get the lowdown on recent maintenance and history and go from there but it certainly looks well looked after and as I said has the perfect spec .
RPM want 47 for a Pdk car.
Obviously see if there is some negotiation but if it's the spec you want be prepared that they may hang tough on it .
Cracking drivers cars, ask Porsche911R on here, he knows and understands these cars well.
Finally don't listen to any negative feedback about the manual roof . It takes less than a minute to put on/remove.
Good luck feel free to ask any further questions

Looks good in the pics
Rare spec.
Worth a look imo, get a Rev range print out done.
5 owners is not to bad it's over 6 years old and most were pre Rev cars.
These are like GT3 and change owners loads due to the roof and little use they get.
I was the 4th owner on mine after 2 years lol but it's even out over time.

Thanks for reassurances. Not worried about the roof comments, its not a daily driver. Will def look to get a check over and overrev report - thanks. Anyone any experience of Jasmine Porschalink who would be reasonably close to get a report done on the car? Lets see where this goes then.
Nice spec car and a fair price from a dealer for sure, once you've got a rev range print out that's in check and everything else adds up then buy it.... Then consider slapping a Porsche warranty on it.
If you've got access to some fun open roads it's a joy, puts a proper smile on your face. It's not the loudest or fastest car, but there is just something raw and cheeky about it that I can't get enough of. Looks ace too..
I decided to keep mine for another year and am about to put it away for the next 6/7 months, unless I'm in the right place and the right time for a crisp winters' morning drive! Time to show the GT4 some love, real chore

Very reasonably priced car...that'll sell within the week I reckon. Mate of mine sold a lower mileage (13k miles IIRC) car with similar spec to JZM for £47k in the spring, they advertside it for £54k and it sold quickly. Obviously we're entering autumn so that impacts the price but I think it's very reasonably priced. If JZM or 911V had it I reckon it would have sold already....
Hi OP
That looks almost identical to mine, well it would do if mine was sparklingly clean just like this looks.
I would get a deal done subject to inspection and get it checked out including rev ranges.
I have had a few weekend toys, going back many years before they were considered investments, and must say this one is just so easy to live with, nice morning? swap cars around, detach trickle charge, whizz off and smile all the way to work and all the way home too.
I have had mine for 20 months, picked it up New Years day, and bloody loved it from day 1.
Good luck, tell us all how you get on.
Cheers

OP- i went out in the spyder at 6am this morning. Roof off, heater on, PSE switched on and nothing on the roads . Just a brilliant car. It's not a GT car so not too harsh blasting through lanes but it's responsive and direct at the same time .
You won't regret owning one, get that car bought Sir !

Provided inspection doesn't throw anything up I'd say that was a very good price indeed.
I have a similar spec car (although with black wheels, chrono & sans satnav) with 17k miles and 2 previous owners which I'll be asking more for after it has had its OPC service this Thursday.

A clean car with just 4,400 miles and no Rev Range incursions selling at 911V is going to go quickly at a premium. But the premium is linked to low miles, so more of a garage queen.http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/1174/987Sp...

Sure have, had car the car inspected and they felt it was one of the nicest they have seen - rev range check all excellent too. One minor issue which is being dealt with courtesy of the dealer (who so far have been excellent), so very excited about picking it up later next week. Will post pics as soon as back on home turf. Thanks to all for reinforcing my decision to buy! Safety in numbers eh ;-). http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/1174/987Sp...
