Hi,

I've got a BMW 340 on a lease that's due to go back next month. The brakes squeal when you are braking at slow speeds, do you think I should get it looked at before I return the car, or should I just send it back? Is this something they could pick up on the inspection, guessing if it's due to the brake pads being low then they might check that?

Also I have a scrape on the bumper(drivers side corner), where I misjudged a car park exit. From what I've read it seems like it's best to just send it back, as they tend to charge reasonable prices for repairs and it also negates the risk of them saying the repairs are substandard.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Following the stories on hear about inspectors with paint gauges, I would be letting them do the repairs, rather than getting stung twice. Why not give them a ring to check?

Brake squeel at low speeds is most likely a build up of brake dust, give the wheels a good clean with a pressure washer and see if that stops it
