AUDI-GATE happening on the Jaguar XF?!!

Had call off broker today, nearly two weeks after order put through and deposit and broker fee paid.

Not getting car! Unless I fancy paying nearly a grand extra over the term!

Anyone else had their ordered cancelled?!

What car and broker please, just had confirmation of my s-line cab order today so I hope this isn’t going to be a trend...
Jaguar XF Prestige ordered through select.
Got the jag r-sport via fleetprices not heard of any cancellation.
I’d phone them to confirm.
Even more annoying is I missed the Audi deal because of it being pulled, now the Xf deal and the Audi Cab deal because I thought I had an Xf secured! Ffs!

Not that those affected would want to go to the hassle, but is there not a case for suing the broker for breach of contract?!? Particularly after agreeing the terms of the lease and handing over fees....

As far as I’m aware it’s Jaguar that have refused to honour the deal, not the broker.

Who funded the Jag deals? Lex?

Any thoughts on this deal?

Volvo V90 R Design D4
8k
6 + 23 = £251 inc Vat, no other fees

Thinking that’s pretty good for one of these?
I saw one of them today, a lot of car for the money but how big is the boot really, it looks quite a "squat" car?

Would need to understand if the Salary Sacrifice means you're paying the rental gross (i.e. before PAYE) and what the BIK liability is before anyone could provide opinion.

£350 is poor value compared to some of the personal leases quoted here, but it's the £net position which matters most. If you're paying tax @40% £350 is only £210 per month, but then you'll have to pay company car tax, not sure what that is on that car.
You won't pay company car tax if you are funding the vehicle yourself.
You won't pay company car tax if you're paying from net salary. You will if it's a gross salary deduction/sacrifice.

I found it to be a good size - think it’s 560 litres. I’ve had both the golf and the Octavia estates which come in at around 600 litres and can’t find much difference really.

Regards the Jag XF I wonder if it's one of these situations again that if Lex haven't countersigned the finance documents they won't honour the deal?

I ordered direct with a Dealer on the Sunday. £225.25 on a 9+23 10000 per year R-sport trim.

What were fleetprices offering price wise?

I had ordered an A6 so if they are going to let me down on this one I'm making a complaint and then onto the Financial Ombudsman.

It'll set a trend if they keep doing it which is disconcerting for consumers.

Having dealt with Lex over an early return late last year I came to the conclusion that they don't know their arse from their elbow. They told us we'd paid too much for early termination so would be issuing a refund.

They then over a period of 4 months sent us the refund a total of 3 times meaning effectively they paid us to take the car back 13 months early.

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest they are making deals they cant/won't honour.

I saw the V90 today. If I lived in America I’d be alright however it would be like a 787 on our roads. Too many small car parking spaces

Its pretty much exactly the same length and width as the A6 Avant and very similar to the Superb Estate etc?

I personally hate Select and their pressure sales tactics and don't usually deliver, I will be staying away.

I signed up to the XF deal via Select on the Monday after it was posted and have an anticipated delivery date of 28.04.18. I’m thinking I should probably give them a ring on Monday and make sure I’m not going to have to restart the search.

I ordered on the Friday, had approval by the Monday and signed.

In other words I wasn't exactly late to the party, deal landed on the Friday morning, I had the order in by Friday 1.30pm.

Finally chose my next car today.

BMW M140i shadow edition, auto

£1000 up front
£321 a month thereafter

7,000 miles; 2 years

Best part of the deal was, I was admiring the i8 as I was leaving (I hadn’t signed the contract at this stage as I always sleep on it before confirming). Call from the salesman on the way home; if I sign the deal by 5pm tomorrow, I get car mats, a full tank......and an i8 for 24 hours.

Wonderful.

Interested to understand what the basis or grounds for going to the ombudsman would be?
