I potentially need a new car by May 30th. I've been looking at the usual suspects for 'In Stock' cars but nothing is really floating my boat. Budget is ~£550pcm on a 6+23/10k miles maintained but I could manage a bit more for the right car. It'll be a business lease.

Ideally I need something frugal (over 40mpg). I really like the new E-Class Coupe but it's way out of budget from a leasing perspective.

What's the story with "In Stock" with these brokers? Do they have a live feed from the dealers/manufacturers? I'm just trying to gauge how accurate "In Stock" is before I focus solely on those cars.

I'm not asking anyone to do legwork for me, but if you've spotted anything suitable recently please holler!
I did a “in stock” search on contract hire and leasing and found this https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...

In my experience it's usually been accurate enough regarding 'stock' status, but only really been looking at stock cars once.

S5 is at £573 on a 1+23? Not sure how competitive that is in the grand scheme of things. Assume you could get a more frugal variant of the A5 with some options for less.

The ‘in stock’ thing seems like nonesense to me based on the ringing around I’ve been doing for the last two weeks. I have now managed to find a suitable car, Ford Kuga Vignale we’re having.

If I were you I’d ring some brokers and ask for what you want and see if they can find a car that’s close enough spec wise etc. I didn’t particularly want a black car but settled on this as it’s being delivered on the 30th.

Not sure if it meets the frugality criteria but heres an E300 Premium AMG Line Coupe - In Stock on a 6+23 10k miles for £508pcm.

Engine is a 2 litre 4-pot petrol so should be able to get mid 30's in mpg, probably doesn't make that much of a difference across 10k miles.

Hate to be the guy that compares new with used, but i'd be tempted to buy a lightly used example for around £18k with the balance of manufacturers warranty on it. In 4 years with 90k on the clock it should still be worth £3-4k.
Just feels like you're almost paying full price for the car with nothing to show at the end of it.

Each to their own, but I don't see the value in 4 year high mileage leases.

I saw this Stelvio (Speciale 280HP) deal on CHL.

Looks considerably cheaper than everyone else so might be a pricing error?

Thanks - I didn't notice there was an "in stock" filter on CH&L. Whilst I'd prefer a 6-cylinder option I'm sure the 220d is sufficient. I'll follow that up.

Thanks - as much as I like the thought of an S5 I don't think it's going to tick the 'frugal' box. I'll have a look at more vanilla options.

Yeah - my wife's last 3 cars have been leased from the same broker so I'll drop them an email and see what they can come up with.

We had a Kuga Titanium X Sport from 2015-2017 and it was a great car so I'm sure you'll be pleased with the Vignale.

no but really... why did you? The point of the thread is deals... not sure what deal you hoped to get with only 4-5 weeks notice? If anything is vaguely a good deal then stock all gets allocated quite a way before that point.

rolleyes

I was merely enquiring about the 'best' deal for my particular circumstances which aren't necessarily the same circumstances as the usual 'deals' (Golf R, Passat Alltrack etc). I don't feel the need to justify to you why I left it so long.

i don't need you to justify it to me, but you probably need to be kicking yourself a bit because i can't imagine you'll end up with that great a deal. Anyway hopefully you find something half decent in time.

I wouldn’t agree that all stock gets allocated early. I’m currently driving a Golf gti dsg nav on 6+24 for £231 a month 10k per year mileage. Picked up in stock 2 weeks before delivery.

Hi

I'm looking for a deal on a Mini for my other half and found this:

1.5 Cooper (Chili Pack)

35+6 @ £212.37 / Month
£198.00 Admin Fee

Nationwide Lease.

Any opinions on this deal would be appreciated, also any better deals for a similar car would be helpful
Has anyone else used Nationwide Vehicle Leasing? Any Good?

Many Thanks

You don't say what mileage it is so hard to judge.

I'd have a look at CH&L and set the parameters up to match that quote - 3 years, 6 up front, £175-£225/month, mileage. See what comes up and if anything would sway you away from the mini.

Pug 208 Gti Prestige might be a consideration.

Just off my trusty spreadsheet take a look at maybe:

Leon 1.2TSI SE - £157
Abarth 595 - £166
Fiat 124 Spider - £170
Astra 1.4 SRI - £174
BMW 218 Active Tourer - £180
Golf 1.4 SE - £185
Audi A1 1.4TFSI Sport - £199
Ateca 1/6 Diesel - £192
Karoq 1.0 SE - £198
BMW 118i Sport Auto - £208
Merc GLA 200 SE - £215
Megane 1.5 Diesel Dynamique - £215
Kia Soul EV - £215
Volvo S60 T4 SE - £216
Audi A4 1.4 TFSI SE - £224

Or the same Mini from Eastern for £195 and no fee. NVL is fine but are often quite a bit more expensive than other brokers.

TL;DR - If you want the Mini don't get it from NVL. If you want to spend that much money you can probably get a nicer car but it's up to you.

Amortised over 2 years it's slightly more than other brokers and mileage allowance less. I can't remember but Mangoletsi might also charge an admin fee?

Also, if you are willing to stretch to 3 years Stoneacre has them at £189/month vs £245 @ Mangoletsi (equivalent)
