That’s categorically not true, car insurance is generally more expensive on a lease as you don’t have a ‘vested interest’ in the vehicle, therefore likely to take more risk than if you ‘owned’ it.
Didn’t make any difference to my premium either (aviva and admiral).

Whilst more than I intended to spend i’m pretty much sold on an Audi A4 2.0TFSI saloon black Edition stronic with tech pack:

3+ 23 @ £327.54 for 24 months / 10k per year. Total is £8516; list is £37860 so 22.5%
Good deal! High spec car with decent powertrain, not sure you could want for much more tbh.

Tax is usually included in the rental. Insurance is your responsibility. Tell the provider that you're leasing the car and not the owner. It doesn't make any difference to your premium (at least it hasn't ever done so for me).
That’s categorically not true
Any chance you could explain how you've seen my insurance policies for the past 6 years?

You know current lease deals are woeful when most of he posts in this thread are bickering over how the car industry/insurance works rather than actually discussing any current deals.... Just when I need to get two cars leased too.

Looks a good deal, where is this from if you don’t mind mentioning? I’d need higher mileage but may still be cheaper than the used GTI/GTDs I’m looking at!

Cheers.

Two very different cars the XC90 and A6 Avant but space is a big thing for us for the next car with plans to extend the family. Benefit of the XC90 is the extra seats but is it worth the extra £4300 over the term??

any input?

I think you're the only one who can answer that question. If you just want a nice, spacious vehicle to transport the family around, get the Audi and save the money.

If you want a 4x4 with a premium image and really need/want the 7 seats, get the Volvo.

Only you know how much that Volvo feeling is worth to you. I imagine that in practical terms, both vehicles offer very similar capabilities. Assuming you don't have 5 kids and like to go off-roading.

thanks mate. You're right really wont be offloading - not five kids but potentially three (2 in car seats). Added to that my mum does travel with us a fair bit on long journeys. The XC90 R Design is a stock vehicle so no good to me. found a Momentum at £413.88 9+23 8000miles pa.

going to have a hard think tonight may be go see one and then decide by the weekend.

Need to get moving as people are quoting ridiculous lead times and my R goes back on 20 October.

If you have 3 kids with 2 in car seats that leaves space for your other child and your wife/partner.If your mum travels with you, where will she sit? You need a 7 seater of which the Volvo is very good.

Depending on the age/size of your other child, the 3rd row of seats may not be very comfortable, so you need to fact in comfort for extended journeys and the Volvo fits the bill. The XC90 may even have isofix on the 3rd row of seats adding to your options in the future.

Good luck

Never made any difference to mine either. I am not sure they think people will take more risk. Particularly as they are insured. They probably would take less risk if they don't have GAP.

I wouldn’t agree that all stock gets allocated early. I’m currently driving a Golf gti dsg nav on 6+24 for £231 a month 10k per year mileage. Picked up in stock 2 weeks before delivery.
Yeah agreed, our cars team carry between 1000-1500 cars in physical stock. Most large dealer groups will carry a few hundred cars in physical stock if not more. Even small dealer groups will carry stock cars
Look, decent deals shift units. You'd be very lucky indeed as a dealer to just happen to order and receive a load of models which then are miraculously awarded a huge amount of support from the manufacturer. It just doesn't happen like that, and I also know you're not allowed to keep an unsold unit in preference to giving it up to a dealer who has it sold if you are part of the same chain which far more are these days. It's very common indeed for models with support to end up with very scarce supply, build to order only and 6 months lead time. It happens far more often than not. One instance where this is not the case doesn't represent a 100% guarantee. All I meant was that I'd be looking 6 months before end of current lease, mainly because I'd rather get a great deal than an average one. I certainly wouldn't be leaving it to days before the date and then asking for help. I know many people are serial procrastinators though.
Large dealer groups have large targets to hit so have to plan ahead, more so for those with longer lead times. But I bow down to your knowledge of how the motor trade and fleet industry works smile
No st they have targets to hit and yea i am sure they do plan ahead, but your logic is broken as dealers don't get sight of the incentives early, and certainly not early enough to get physical vehicles ready for deals coming online.
I really can't be arsed to argue with you over this, so lets not derail the thread with how the fleet industry works eh?
Interesting 2cv is now telling a guy who makes his living leasing cars how his industry works. rolleyes
i ran a fking car dealership. My family owned 3.

No isofix in the 3rd row, I’ve got a momentum spec xc90 and it’s a really nice car with all the spec you’d really need apart from maybe reverse camera unless they’ve added that from last years spec. Performance is decent for such a big car, semi autonomous driving is excellent on motorways and interior is quality.
And Volvo app is nice to have to warm up seats when it’s cold!

That’s pretty steep. I’d be looking to PCP for the Velar, especially over 4 years.

I cant seem to find any decent PCP deals, especially as I need a car within 2 weeks, I am looking for stock cars.

Ah, you’ll struggle to find anything decent in 2 weeks I’m afraid. Good luck with the search.

Fairly set on a Volvo XC60, have a quote of £374 on a 6+35 for an R-design Geartronic T5 with just reversing camera as an option. Will be coming from a dirt cheap Audi A4 lease so this is a big uptick in monthlies but was budgeting around £300ish for a more suitable family wagon. Anyone seen any better offers? No so keen on the Momentum spec after comparing the two recently. Lead times don't seem great on the Volvo at the moment, but better than the Tiguan we were also considering.
