Tempted by these Volvo deals but wife is "your not getting a volvo". Why is the badge still associated with old people?!
I am 43 now, surely I'm in the right age bracket for one!

Also 43 and will be stopping at Volvo dealer to see just how big they look in real life.

The Neva deal says non metallic which I guess means only Ice White or another £29/month fir a metallic.....

flat red or white according to their website
The earlier deals had metallic thrown in free as it gave better auction value at the end

Hi Nick,
Spoke to Alphabet again this morning as again I think you are correct.
The first customer contact team have confirmed the countdown is fine the actual service or spanner light showing is not.
That phone call just saved me £200.
They have also put a note on my case file to confirm the conversation just in case the driver wants to reject collection.

Cheers Stv
Good news, common sense prevailed !

Indeed. I am in the same cycle of life and obviously the pipe and slippers gags are starting when I tell them what the new car is! Anyway 2 years of fixed cost motoring gives time to build a nice deposit to co inside with the new 3 series touring being out for a bit(and hopefully in m340 guise) .

My wife is 26 and she loves her new V90. Much better (albeit 3 times as expensive) than her passat.

Full Maintenance worth taking out on the s90/v90? Seems quite expensive at £35 month for 8k per annum, anyone had better?

To the people who have successfully got lease deals through a BMW main dealer without them telling you that you need to have a car allowance, can I have some contact details please?!

I don’t seem to be getting anywhere fast, either they don’t offer PCH (which I know is rubbish but that’s the typical front desk sales guy for you) or another dealership has said I need to be able to supply one of the following:

A copy of the company/cash allowance policy stating the cash allowance and entitlement

A listed Director or HR email confirming, Employee ‘x’ is in receipt of an allowance in lieu of the provision of a traditional company vehicle

A copy of the employee’s contract stating that the car is required for the employee’s role.

For those looking at the S90, send me an email and I can pass info of the dealer who can match this Neva deal and the Cvl one (and maybe more) with no fees to pay as dealing direct with a dealer, they only have a few S90 and a few V90’s left so need to be quick

Exactly the same boat here. Been trying to persuade my wife (35) to have one but she said divorce will ensue if I even dare take her to a Volvo dealership.

Now she doesn’t understand why we don’t get a £20k loan out and buy a second hand car rather then renting a car at up to £400 a month, I’m struggling to come up with an answer at the moment...

Just had my rather tatty Leon collected by Fleet Automotive for Arval and was pleasantly surprised by the estimate of £140 for sevaral large scrapes and a kerbed alloy. I'm sure I couldn't have had it repaired for anything like that. Will this be the final cost or is there a chance Arval could come back and charge more?
Had an email from Arval saying they're not going to charge anything, result! biggrin

My wife has been on at me for ages to get a Volvo! My V90 comes next week, she wants an XC60 in the new year. We're both in our 30's!

Or just post the details on this forum... that’s the idea of it.

It’s so frustrating when people don’t actually tell you where they got their deals from! It’s the point of the thread.

Or maybe because the dealer hasnt given permission yet...

Edit: I've already mentioned the deal I went with

S90 R design with winter pack, £3k deposit and £159.38 a month on an 18 month deal 8K PA but as mentioned other profile terms available too

Even at the lowest interest rates for unsecured loans (4%-ish) a £20k used car on finance is only marginally different in cost to an excellent lease deal.

You have VED, interest, depreciation and running costs (it’s rare you’ll find a used car with new tyres, just serviced etc) which counterbalance the lease cost. And that’s comparing used with new so not even like with like.

Mine was 23 quid a month on a 6x24 for a d5 v90, includes punctures as well.

Well just spent a couple of hours looking at the Alfa SUV & the Volvo V90. Both really nice vehicles but neither meet requirements due to angle of boot restricting space for the dog. Compared to the old V90 this model looks great but just comprises the headroom due to the angle of the boot.

Now looking at XC60 as the xc90 is massive & 90% of the time it's just me or me & the dog.

As for the age/badge thing; these Volvo's are pretty handsome cars and fine for a couple of years

Well I have just popped into my local dealership and had a nose round a v90 r design for the first time.
For those thinking of taking the plunge on a deal without seeing one, like me, thoughts are..

It is big but the sloping rear hides the bulk well.
Glad I didn't order it in black.
Fake exhaust surrounds are HUGE and while looking good you can see the real pipe when Standing back, probably less noticeable on the move.
Inside is a very nice place to be! Coming from a 2016 3 series it is a big step up in quality and you sit low like in the 3er. The materials are so much nicer and seats fantastic. Yes it's a newer model and a class above but still.
Standard 18s do not look as bad as I thought they would and are passable in the arches.
I don't understand if your job is sales why you would ignore potential customers. I pulled up in my wifes skoda fabia while a sales guy saw and he really couldnt have cared less when I walked in. I wonder if I had done the same in my top of the range 3 series if the response would have been different....

All in all I am really looking forward to getting the v90 now, it will be a big step down in performance but a big step up in cabin and toys.

I did look at the polestar kit and laughed out loud. 835 quid for 5bhp and 15 odd ft lb torque!
