Only thing is trying to find a non rusty MX-5 at £1500.... have been trying, and failing!
Have many not been repaired by now?
or are they being sold for more £££

Spotted a few ST's on AT for around the £6/7k mark. Look really nice.

The moral of this thread, do not buy a GTC VXR then..

It seems to be 1-2k will get you one that has "normal MX-5 rust" / "some bubbling" / "some surface rust" - i.e. rusty as fk and the chap wants to sell before having to pay for repairs. It seems you need to pay more to get one that is genuinely not rusty.

See my recent thread in the MX5 forum - "some rust" - sills are shot - guys claim it had sills replaced recently - well mate they need replaced again ...

Apologies for resurrecting this but was/am currently looking at a few impreza's, most notably a 2008 WRX 2.5 5 door for around £5k (since I'm trying to lower my budget).

I haven't ran an quite yet but I'm pretty sure a relative of mine is open to me joining them on their policy. Are more recent iterations of Inpreza's decent cars?
