Anyone got any deals on

Micra n-Connecta
Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost
Up!
MiTo
Polo

Or in general under £150-175 a month (student salary). Up to £3800 deposit contribution, up to 30 month lease. Option to buy valuation too please... I talked to Ling and she didn’t have a quote until the new year (May delivery)

All with 1.0-1.2 engines please? I’ve never leased or taken out PCP so am clueless
Thanks

Sounds like you want a PCP not a lease/contract hire.

In any case, forget Ling - LOL!

Go and find out which companies provide 0% APR and then enquire about those cars via carwow. And get quotes & do test drives and sums.

Be aware of the financial commitment of a PCP... You have to keep payments up and backing out of the contract early usually involves penalties. As an aside, consider actual cost of ownership including insurance quotes and fuel!

I don't know your financial position but typically it wouldn't be the best financial advise for someone on a student salary to get a brand new car in PCP... but I'm not your financial advisor, and sometimes it does make sense.

Are deals out there? Sure! But you can't expect others to do all the leg work for you - including finding out how each financial product works and if it's suitable.

In any case look at leasing.com if you do want a lease and if you find and deals post them here for others to know :P

Meanwhile I recommend you do more research, lots more research, into cat buying.

What's a student salary?

If you mean you are at uni why would you piss thousands up the wall annually?

Ah you are already doing that.

The Mito is finished I believe now so you may struggle to get one of those.

The new Citroen C3 and Suzuki Swift are very good value at the moment, would you consider one of those?

You can't be too choosy with leasing, you've got to be open minded as to what you want for the best deals.

If you go PCP, then the Fiesta or Micra are probably the best value as I believe both are available on 0% but you're looking at 3 or 4 year plans. The Polo is currently around 6% APR (my cousin has just got one) which is too high in my opinion, the Up! is 7.9%!.

As others have said, have a play with Carwow & Leasing.com and see what comes up - only you know what's right for you in terms of finance packages.

My son, looking to get a new car on 24 month contract for him instead of getting a stty 2001 car and pay twice as much for insurance, and anyway used Up’s and Micras aren’t that far off a brand new one so why not? He can easily afford £150 a month, he has no other commitments because he’s nearly 16 living at home working at M&S. Looking to get him the car when he’s 16 and take out a provisional and get him learning, then obviously keeping the car til the lease ends so he’s finishing his lessons and actually using it for a year or so, then we can skip to a cheaper car, better lease or buy it out as the insurance rates will drop so long as he doesn’t crash or get points.
I’ll be buying out the insurance so it’s a win win situation. I pay only £1500, he pays £150 out of his salary every month, and we get a brand new car. The lease will be taken under my name as Ling said he can’t take out a lease until he’s 18 and having no credit history is the problem. If he struggles to make payments I’ll help him out as it is of low cost to me as I’m quids up.
I’ve never leased before so I had to read up on it. I’m sorry if the previous post sounded arrogant I was just hoping we had a lease company on here who could provide quotes.

If you want the option of owning the car lease/contract hire is NOT what you want.

PCP + 'baloon' payment, HP, cash or bank loan. That's your options.

Some finance companies may give you optionn to buy your car at the end of term (VWFS sometimes for example) but not always, and that could change so if owning the car is critically important forget lease.

In general you won't find companies here, at least not officially, quoting deals

As recommended bread the past few pages of the threads to understand leasing nomenclature etc and look at leasing.com as a 'comparison site's for various leasing companies.

Plenty of deals to be had for small cars. Jazz, C3, Mazda 2, 500, Octavia, Swift, Rio, Picanto, Ceed, Up, Adam, i10 etc.

He can get a provisional at 16 but he can't drive until he's 17 unless he's disabled. And if he is. he can get a free car (and driving lessons) anyway.

He isn’t disabled. I meant he can drive with me in the passenger seat as long as he’s insured (right?)

If you really want him to drive earlier than 17 have a look at these places:

https://www.youngdriver.eu/

Other than that, he has to be 17 to get behind the wheel on the public road.

Also, I would check the terms of the lease agreement. Many stipulate that drivers have to hold a Full driving licence i.e. not a provisional, which would mean that learning to drive in it could be out of the question.

Would it also be the case that he has to be 17 on private land that is generally freely permitting public access, such as supermarket car parks? (In the same way that one must be insured to drive the vehicle one is driving when on the public highway or when in a 'public' place?)

I'm aware there are a few airfields out there in private ownership that permit Under 17 Young Driver training days, but I don't know if there is a black line in the shades of grey that is 'publically accessible private land'.

Quite honestly I never bothered to check. I only got a cheap lease as a run around and so my other half could learn to drive. She even got smacked in the rear bumper whilst learning.

Yes. Road Traffic Act applies.

It's pretty odd that someone thinks 16yr olds can drive. There's been chatter for years about changing the minimum age to 18.

While we're at it... I need to buy a new phone for my dog walker cousin.

Either an iPhone XS or Note 9. Tell me which one is best and do all the leg work to get a contract for me.

Must be under £10/month and get signal in my house. Also, do I need PPI?
