Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 6)
Discussion
Has anyone received a decent lease deal on a pre-reg car from a dealer?
Also is this allowed? Or can they only offer a 'new car' lease on an unregistered car?
Just thinking ahead to next month if there might be some good deals on any cars which need to be registered/sold before 1st September
Thanks

Correct, in R Line spec
Seems like you can save a fair bit on that with Elegance spec (which isn't too different really, just a few styling elements, different wheels, and actually has more choice of interior colours for leather etc), eg:https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/leasehub/v...
(admittedly that's on 8k miles)

Can't answer your question directly but surely they don't have to be pre-registered if they're bought in August? So arguably yes, there will be vehicles sitting around that need to be shifted before September, and therefore the potential for some nice deals. Also is this allowed? I strongly suspect that the best lease deals in coming months will arise on pre-registered cars. I myself have a PCH on a pre-reg car - my Mini Cooper SD was registered in August last year, I ordered it in December and got it in late Jan this year with delivery mileage. Also is this allowed? I suspect that the deals will get better and better on the glut of cars that will have to be pre-registered in August as they become older and less easy to shift (particularly once production levels on new cars are back up to normal), so we could see deals coming up on these between Sept right through to early next year.

Have to admit the Elegance spec is very nice too - as you mentioned, not too far off the R Line. I actually mistakenly took it for an R Line in the showroom and only realised it wasn't when I spotted the steering wheel. I advise anyone looking to get the Arteon to check both specs out as the saving seems worthwhile for the Elegance. Going from a Golf R to a Tiguan R Line, I think I'd miss the R badges so I'd probably still have gone for the same spec as ordered! https://leasing.com/independent-brokers/leasehub/v...
Always worth checking with David East if he can beat the Lease Hub price too. Chances are he can.

I am also hoping for some good lease deals next month - if the right one comes along on a stock car i can cancel our A4 that I ordered in April, was due Sept, then due Dec now could be 2019
What is the deal generally when cancelling an order? The contract I signed with the broker says a £300 fee - is that it (typically)? If so it might be worth me keeping my eyes open in the intervening period for something unmissable.RRS2006 said:

Don't rent a car. Get a vehicle loan and buy something good-used which has already depreciated.
I did this with a Porsche which I now own. My mate 'rents' a new Mercedes A-class after giving back the last A-class he 'rented'.
You have been warned. ;0)
amazing advice, you're right, thank you so much for your sage warning... after 6 volumes let's all just acknowledge that we were deluded the whole time and you are just so 'woke' driving around in your 996 targa with aftermarket aero kit. I did this with a Porsche which I now own. My mate 'rents' a new Mercedes A-class after giving back the last A-class he 'rented'.

At least you don't have to worry about rusty exhaust pipes on a new car: I quote directly from your own forum post elsewhere:
"I for example noticed there is some rust on my exhaust mid pipes which I am not happy about."

What's the Elegance missing other than styling bits/wheels? Might be saviour!
These are the differences listed in the brochure:19" wheels instead of 18"
Body-coloured top and matt black lower door mirrors with integrated indicators (think I like the Elegance's matt silver door mirrors better actually)
Chrome effect trapezoid dummy exhaust tailpipe surrounds, left and right
Rear tinted glass from B pillar backwards
‘R-Line’ styling pack – ‘R-Line’ design front bumper with unique ‘C’ signature ‘Gloss Black’ front air intakes and ‘Gloss Black’ rear tailgate spoiler
‘R-Line’ badging on front panels
Different three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with aluminium inserts and ‘R-Line’ logo.
Different seat upholstery ‘Nappa’ leather and ‘Carbon Optic’ side bolsters with contrast stitching (arguably the Elegance is better here, choice of leather colour and none of the naff Carbon Optic stuff, whatever that is made of, who knows)
Front seats with ‘R-Line’ logo on seat backrest
Different decorative inserts in dash and door panels
‘Titan Black’ rooflining (again, no tangible advantage here, arguably a lighter interior is better for a sense of space)
‘R-Line’ branding on door sill protectors
Overall I think the R-Line makes for a slightly more agressive look, which you may or may not like. But that's all it is...cosmetic.

This deal looks pretty good on an in stock E Class estate. I would go for it myself but my current lease isn't up until December:
E Class Estate E220d AMG Line 5dr 9G-Tronic
3+23
10kpa
£314.94
works out <20% of RRP I reckon.

I'm quite tempted by this. The interior looks lovely and it's pretty fast. I'm a bit worried it will be a bit of a barge though; has anyone driven one?E Class Estate E220d AMG Line 5dr 9G-Tronic

David East at VW Milton Keynes (Jardine Motors) can do it for around £313 amortised and it was pretty much a 1+23 profile too, not much difference but every little helps and some may want the lower initial. This is for the standard Urano Grey.6+23 at £262.42

Haven't driven one myself, but TG definitely don't think it's too bargey:https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/mercedes-benz/...
If my 3 series estate was due back soon rather than December I'd definitely be going for it.
