The Bargain PCP Deal Thread

Just for reference, they can do the deal (sort of) on a touring, but the touring carries a premium vs saloon so you need to up the deposit. Instead of 399 deposit and 399pcm, you need 2000 deposit and 397pcm. Or 1500 deposit and 408pcm. Also note it’s the rwd not xdrive variant and is supposed to be for feb collection (deal is on 69 plates) but I blagged a 2020 plate March delivery under the terms just stated.

Only question left is colour. I don’t want white or black so that leaves silver, blue or sophisto grey. White leather is out because kids (wouldn’t be so bad if the seat belts weren’t white too) so will go black with the M-Sport stitching. Brushed ally inlays as I’ve got the honeycomb on my 3 series and want a change, but I’m not over 65 so can’t stomach wood. At the risk of dividing opinion, which colour do you lot think? Uploader not working to add pictures.

Sophisto Grey gets my vote. I think it suits the touring: https://twitter.com/Bavarian_BMW/status/8658453139...
My 330d has been awesome. Never missed a beat, 46.6mpg over 75k miles, nimble, handles brilliantly and great fun when the rears wear out (it’s rwd rather than xdrive). It’s only because the kids are 4 years bigger now that I’ve gone for a 5 estate. Same engine which in itself tells you I’ve enjoyed it.
The 3 is smaller and handles better than a 5. And is cheaper and basically has the same toys. Personally I’d you don’t need a 5 then get a 3 but that’s just my opinion.

Thanks, the rational part of me agrees that the 3 is probably all the car I need. However, it also struggles with the fact that a 3 would be more expensive on PCP despite being a cheaper car!The 3 is smaller and handles better than a 5. I guess it comes down to why you want the car. If you want luxury then take the 5. If you want fun and something chuckable take the 3.
Then it comes down to cost. If you want the 3 then lease one; there are some fantastic lease deals on 330d around which there aren’t for the 5.

Or, if it’s about pcp being the objective and owning the asset, take the 5 and sacrifice a tiny, negligible amount of fun for a very cheaply purchased exec car which will tick almost all the same “fun” boxes. Rather than 399pcm and 1200 deposit for a 330d lease, you have 399pcm and 399 deposit, and an 18k car at the end if you want to buy it. The issue is that 2016 530d currently sell for almost exactly 18k which is the gfv, so in reality it’s irrelevant whether you lease or pcp with regards to future investment.
Not sure that helps? Basically lease a 3 or buy a 5 depending on whether you want a 3 or a 5. They’re broadly the same price. Then at the end, buy the same 5 for 18k or if you leased a 3, buy someone else’s 5 for 18k.

The 5 is due an LCI and so cheap but the 3 is pretty much a new car
Ive just FTK on a 530d Touring for a lot less than the 330d lease you linked which has great headline figures which are a bit more shabby if you adjust deposit and mileage for more realistic numbers
Ive had a couple of 3 series Tourings in my Family Guy career
An E46 with a toddler and a baby which was tight but OK and an F31 with a couple of teenagers which had was borderline on cabin space and luggage but kept us sane with the secret cubby under the rear load space and a roof box. Just
In the time since the F31 we now holiday with a medium sized dog in a Volvo estate and the F31 would just not fit us all in
And so Im very excited to swap an asthmatic petrol T4 for yet another Bavarian 6 pot in a bigger pair of Lederhosen drinking the devils fuel
Its on a 4y PCP which will see us through to being empty nesters and then we'll probably go back to a 3 series when its just me, the missus and the dog. Hopefully an M340i Touring
Cheers

Cheeky question; I ftk’ed last week on 530d touring. What final price did you secure? Deposit, pcm, balloon and mileage pa if you’d be so kind?
£389x48 months8000 miles PA
GFV £18900
It was initially £439 which Id decided was a bit rich but weirdly also the best price Id seen for a 320d
Cheers

Looking at a Hyundai 1.4 Fastback N line for £21990
Pcp deal is - £289 per month with £650 deposit
12,000 miles per year. Balloon payment is £6k on 4 years
Just wanting to know is this good bad or average for pcp?
Also what is the car like in general
Thanks
No idea on the car itself but to check a PCP offer you need to know the list price of the car (and calculate the percentage discount they are offering) and also state the APR % on the finance. If its a good discount (ie; more than 10% at the very minimum) and sub 5% APR it may be a good deal. On the list price discount front there are some very good ones being offered by the likes of Drive the Deal this year.Pcp deal is - £289 per month with £650 deposit
