Best Lease Car Deals Available? (Vol 7)
Discussion
Anyone have experience with the Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engines? Looking for a 2 year lease for the missus and the Focus 1.0 Ecoboost seems reasonable.

The car is £22,255 RRP but can be had for £20,000 making the lease 25-27.5%.
Alternatives I've seen on same 1+23, 8000 miles are Seat Leon (£5040) or Hyundai i30 (£5100).

Having been convinced as to personal leasing nearly a couple of years ago thanks to this thread our first foray is due to end mid August when our Tiguan is due to go back. We are now looking for our second lease and as previously only ever owned (never done PCP) we've not had the experience of needing to find the next car/deal to a deadline.
We are fairly flexible in terms of what we could go to next, kids now adults and working away/at uni so mostly just the 2 of us with occasional need to seat 4 adults, by either sticking to SUV Tiguan size or go a little smaller e.g. hatches such as Golf, A Class, Leon, Focus. As for fuel type if SUV would prefer diesel but for a hatch really don't mind. Our current car was a 6 + 23 at 10k mileage at £234 per month and we will probably be somewhere around 18k over the 2 years - we would be looking for 3 + 23 at around 10k mileage but would look closely at a good 8k deal where the excess mileage would be worth paying over the cost of a 10k and are prepared to go up to say £270 monthly but that would be on a 3 month initial payment.
We have looked at the smaller SUVs such as T-Roc, Arona and found they don't seem as roomy in the back as the hatches (we've carried out space tests in all the options with me at around 6'2" getting a comfy driving position and then me trying the rear seat behind my favoured position) and had to rule out estates on grounds of length (my OH will share use and her workplace car park, a school, has a small, fairly tight car park with relatively short spaces with an entrance footpath at the back used by the kids often with bikes and scooters etc - she has said any bigger than a tiguan is a no).
Having started following this thread again in February I think I've perhaps played too long a waiting game hoping for great deals which for certain models rules out factory build orders certainly on the VAG stuff. Does anyone know if it is similar with Mercedes, we tested the A Class yesterday and were very impressed, and Ford? Unfortunately the price they quoted was way off the Mercedes Perth pricing so am going to get a quote from them.
Do dealerships, the bigger groups, have stock orders that they know will be arriving between now and early August they can reserve for us or is everything now very much build to order or in stock vehicles? Also with in stock deals will they wait say 2-3 months or do they expect you to take delivery within say no longer than a month?
A lot of questions I know but I find this thread a valuable resource.

My Mrs has one and she loves it. Gets about 40+ mpg with a mix of pottering about and the odd motorway drive. 1+23

Engine is decent and doesnt feel as slow as you might expect when you say 1litre.
Relatively smooth and a nice car to drive. On motorways you don't feel you have that kick down obviously.

Jaguar Contract Hire have told me I can informally keep mine for £11/day and a pro-rata 280 miles per week and to just give them 7 days notice so they can arrange collection.
@Millsy hero forgive me, but what is your question in terms of what car you are looking for? According to your budget there are plenty of deals which are on offer/available, the cars which you have tested all come within that price range. It's up to you to decide what make, spec, engine, power, economy, space, etc that you would like.
If you find a certain deal then feel free to post and we will try and find a better deal.
Sorry if I came across rude.

Oh yes you’re right. Got my maths wrong. Divided by 18 not 24.
Toureg on a 2 year lease works out to £575 amortised (including fees). Total lease cost £13,802
XC90 on a 2 year lease works out to £587 amortise. Total lease cost £14,099
XC90 is £300 more expensive over the term. Decisions decisions. Which one would you guys go for????
XC90 also comes with free metallic paint.
Help! Lol

XC90 is the more prestigious of the two, down at the school gates.
Surprised how many they sell, considering the size increae of the new one must make it a pita to drive.

If you are going to throw away spend £600 a month, then at least have something to show for it.

Deal is the deal, nothing better out there, £600 isn't a lot of money to some people, people will always put their opinion on peoples spending habits on the internet because they have nothing better to do.
This is a car leasing thread so there will be some criticism. It's like saying if your budget was 1k a month and you were deciding between an m3 or m4, then some people might turn around and say, you could get 3 cupras cheaper than that, if you like the car than get it, we are just comparing to what else you can get in the current market.Millsy Hero said:

If you move from a VAG car to another VAG car then they'll generally let you keep on your current lease until your new car is ready (although this means no sneakily handing the car back early to avoid the cost of a service). There's also usually the option to informally extend the lease up to 3 months after the date on the contract which could come in handy if switching brands.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
