\What was temp like outside? I'd expect you get get nearer 150 as you approach summer.
130 miles range would be fine for me. I can try to limit my occasional 200 mile trips to summer which means just one charge each way

I think the real range would have been around 100 miles doing nearly all Motorway miles.
I had 31% left and just over 20 miles left to complete my trip, I started with 99% charge.
I was using the heater and the heated seats.
It got too cold without the heater but I think without it and putting it in economy mode, I probably would have got 130 miles

Has any one seen any good deals on the Nissan Leaf Tekna e+, the 62 kw battery version. The best I've been quoted is £446.76 on 1+23 12,000 with metallic, £150 more than the 40 kw battery leaf. At that price it's too close to Tesla Model 3.
I have also been looking for this, got a similar quote. The E+ would suit my range needs much more than the LEAF.
For a saving of around £100 a month, I may just take the standard leaf and take a 30 minute break at a service station every Sunday when I need to do a 150 mile round trip.
I have been looking at Cupra Ateca last few weeks, got some quotes and all are coming in with a 'cashback deal' whereby if you want a 9+35 they actually get you to sign a 12+35 and then the dealer sends you a cheque when you take delivery of the car for 3 x monthly payments. Sounds ok in theory, however what if the dealer goes bust or closes before you take delviery of the car or they decide they dont want to send you the 'cashback' you would be committed to the 12+35 deal with the finance company. Anyone on here know of this or done it?
Ive had a lease car for years and never come across this.

I did something similar with our previous Golf GTI, they transferred the money to me before the first payment was due. Was with a major dealer chain (Inchcape) which helped me feel better though probably didn't change the risk. The current one was was financed with Lex rather than VWFS and no cashback needed to get the price, but I'd do it again for the right deal...Ive had a lease car for years and never come across this.

Thanks, risk on this is around £1k not turning up so not something I really want to gamble on if I can help it. However they all are main dealers so think it should be ok, may I ask what gaurentee you had for getting that cashback? ahm said:
Got a formal quote for the nhs e-tron deal through nhsfleetsolutions.
£318p/m
8kpa
24months 1+23
Includes metallic, insurance, maintenance, tyres and a podpoint charger installed at the house.
Crackin' deal in my eyes, even with some pension contribution impact that I need to consider. Other than the pension thing is there anything else I should be wary of when it comes to salary sacrifice deal?
Sorry again for being an NHS specific deal post!!
There shouldn't be any impact on pension contributions as far as I know. £318p/m

As far as I know, since your the car payment comes out of your gross pay, then you are going to be putting less into your pension each month, since it's calculated as a percentage of gross. So although saving a lot on the car, especially due to ni and tax savings, your also reducing your pension pot slightly. Can you explain what you mean please?
Thanks
The quote actually gives a figure for estimated "savings on pension".
If I'm wrong please tell me, I'm am certainly no pension or salary sacrifice expert, just starting to get my head around it.

There is definitely an impact on your pension, your gross pay is reduced, therefore your pension contribution is reduced. As an example, if you lease a car through the nhs scheme for £300 per month, your gross pay is reduced by £3600 per year. The nhs pension is now a career average scheme, so for every year of your lease, £66.66 less per year goes into your carreer average ‘pot’ for that year (they add all the pots up at retirement and pay you the total each year). So a three year lease means £200 less per year at retirement. The total amount will actually be more than that, as your contributions go up by 1.5% over inflation each year, so e.g. youve got 30 years untill you retire, it will be £312 less per year, plus any inflation in the last 30 years. If you do multiple leases before you retire, you could end up with thousdsnds less each year in retirement.
The quote actually gives a figure for estimated "savings on pension".
If I'm wrong please tell me, I'm am certainly no pension or salary sacrifice expert, just starting to get my head around it.

Wouldn't that be the effect if u continued with a lease agreement for a number of years, at the same amount right up until retirement age? If u only did for a 3 year term (whilst BIK rates were good), surely the effect would be much less?

What are you paying? I was tempted by the 440i vias nhs deals it worked out 399 per month and £1k down, I just couldnt justify it maybe the 430i is the way to go.
Thank you, the car does look really nice and it's such a smooth drive. Coming from a remapped E92 330d the 430i feels much more refined. The initial deal for a standard M Sport 430i was £1k + £335 x 23, however, after choosing the M Sport Plus pack + a few options and lowering my monthly payments the final deal was £3888 + £277 x 23. Quite expensive compared to the original 420i deal however it's much cheaper than the PCP route I was initially going to take.

Looks really nice I ordered the same spec but the 420i, just wondering if you did the finance paper work by email or when you picked it up ?
All done by email. Just e-signed a couple of documents when I got there and that was it. Really quick and easy. Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
