I placed an order yesterday. Beware, advert states 1+23 but first payment is actually £500 + 23.
Explanation given is that they don’t follow usual 1,3,9 + profile, they round up first payment in increments of £250. I’m challenging this.
I went for DSG, got stung with the £199 processing fee but that I expected.
Forgot password etc. from posting years ago on Porsche forum, so not a newbie or lurker and coming to the end of a Volvo S90 and XC60 deal from here.
Zen finance and lease the cars out in house. They can charge what they like and don’t have to stick to any form of 1 3 6 9+ etc.

The fee free promo I think is for fast delivery in stock cars and that’s why they are wavering it on some models. Plus they can charge whatever fee they like when they like, if it’s not for you then go elsewhere.
what they do have to do however is ensure that the deal as advertised is the deal you get. The rounding up thing just sounds stupid, why even bother. What is the cost per month for a given deposit, that's all that anyone cares about. The additional deposit brings down the monthly by like a tenner. No one would even notice if it was the higher figure. It's the same total cost anyway (or is it).

I'd be going in there ready to tell them to FRO and i will go somewhere that doesn't engage in sharp practice and false advertising.

It isn’t bad at all another 21% like the bmw above. If it was me I’d have this instead, slightly more rear space and a fair bit more goodies than the 5 series plus a £70 ish a month saving
£285 with 10k so still decent value at 22%

I have an order placed with Zen, it was a clear 3+23 with none of this rounding up. They do seem quite clear on the website that the firrst payment is generally just a round number, but that's also shown on the quotes etc. My quote and then finance documents clearly stated it was the 3 month figure to the penny.

Areton essentialy an Audi A5 sportback. You can't really compare with the BMW 5 Series as that model is a saloon.

so that's them just stealing money then. None of that goes to the finance company as the docs prove. They didn't even have the sense to call it an admin fee, it's just "ah yea we round that number up for no logical reason at all". Makes me think that it might even just be a particular sales guy funneling it away?

I’m desperate for these apparent golf gti deals to appear. I was ready to sign for the Kia Ceed GT and then the guy I was dealing with has gone silent for a week!

I assume the megane 280 is pretty heavy on fuel ..
I’ve got two separate Ceed GT quotes on the table, PM me if you want the contacts.

I’m trying to find a car for my wife, she test drove the Ceed GT at the weekend and was close to signing up for one, but she’s now after a Megane RS 280, although the Ceed does have a lot more standard equipment.

She’s got a Golf GTi at the moment, which isn’t amazing on fuel, don’t expect the Megane will be much worse - smaller engine/more powerful.

Incidentally, for the Megane it seems better to sign up for a lower mileage and pay the excess, which worked out cheaper than paying for the mileage up front.

Weirdly inconsistent.
Mine’s advertised as 1+23 ie £321 + 23x £321 and £199 fee.
My Paperwork says 1st Direct Debit payment is £500.
The £199 fee is paid separately.
Anyway that’s an FYI. As you were.

Odd, my 3+23 at 209 has an initial payment of 627, and that is the exact amount listed in the finance agreement too. Again, like all lease brokers the fee is kept separate.

I'd certainly be questioning why the finance agreement has different figures to the quote provided.

Hi All

I appreciate people were after the Kia Xceed lower spec models on great deals. I've spotted the below and I am wondering if it's a good deal considering it's relatively cheap for the best possible spec:

KIA XCEED HATCHBACK SPECIAL EDITION 1.4T GDi ISG First Edition 5dr DCT - AUTO

£218 p/m, £1,313 initial, £195 admin - 5k Miles (8.4p excess)
6 + 23
Total: £6,544.84

With the extra mileage to get to 10k I calculate this to be £25.5% so not the greatest value wise, but considering it's top spec and comes with a lot of niceties and metallic paint as standard... is it still a decent deal?

Thoughts are welcome
I've got an enquiry out on one of these with Jet as the spec (which is incredible) and price fit my requirements. Was considering a second hand (2012-2014) Focus Titanium X but this works out much better financially and gives me the comfort of manufacturer warranty.

Can't decide on whether I want to go with black paint or the yellow paint. The black paint means the interior is quite a contrast but the yellow stands out quite a bit (and I'm not sure whether that's in a good way!).

If you cancel the contract within the 14 day cooling off period after signing the finance document, do you still have to pay the broker fee? I signed Lex paperwork a couple of days ago and have received a separate bill from the broker for his fee.

Not sure I follow, but the Arteon is a fair bit bigger than an A5 it’s more A7. Isn’t a sport back just a saloon with more style?

Just an update on this:
Maintenance adds £13.56 a month (worth it imo as the service schedule is every 12 months/I believe 10k miles)

There are some already at port in the UK, being given 3/4 week turnaround.

Taking delivery after 1st April adds £13/month due to the RFL increases.

Or there are some nice Audi Avant deals around too.

Got offered an A6 Avant Black Edition recently for way under your budget.
Is the black edition still available? That could be very interesting!
Interested in this...any details?
Try carleasing-online.co.uk, I ordered my black edition in November for delivery next week.

Arteon and the A5 are the same model from the same stable. Sportback is the marketing term for hatchback. Just like you can't get estate cars any more. The marketing department say you mean a 'touring' model. If you want to be elite, then you must mean 'Shooting Brake'!

A5 is the hatch equivalent of an A4. A7 is the hatch equivalent of the A6. A4 / A5 = BMW 3 / 4 Series. A6 / 7 = BMW 5 / 6 Series.

Is the Passat the VW equivalent of the A4 or A6 ??? because isnt the Arteon the saloon version of the Passat ??

Henry Catchpole said on his review that the Megane 280 is actually fairly thirsty, which is a surprise for a smaller engine. The 2.0 TSI VW engine is pretty frugal, especially on longer runs. Obviously, it all depends on your use/driving style. They're performance engines i suppose, at the end of the day. The "official" figures also shows the difference in fuel consumption, although i don't rely on them too much.

It did put me off the Megane, aswell as the lack of decent deals on the EDC version, which is what I'd want. I went for a Cupra 290 in the end. It looks to be better on juice than my current 180 BHP Scirocco with the same engine...
