door speaker recommendations
Discussion
My drivers door speaker doesn't work. It did spring to life last week when I opened the door the other week, but havent been able to replicate any activity in it since.
I took the Chim to collect the lad from school today, and having got there a bit early I had a bit of a tinker with the speaker - I figured perhaps the connection was loose. the speaker is a pioneer unit, which may be an original fit I guess - Anyhoo, the wires are firmly in situ. So I popped it back in - I neglected to measure it but looks to be a 6 inch unit. It looks scruffy and the one in the other door sounds poor so I thought a new pair might be a worthwhile option.
Any recommendations that will fit the doors without modification?
also is there anywhere else apart from the head unit connector that might be prone to a dodgy connection? or could it just be old wires cracking up a bit?

I've used Pioneer TS-A1723i 6.5" 3 way co-axial 400w.
Most likely wiring fault is a broken wire at the door hinge. There is a connector just inside the footwell.

confirmed its a wiring issue - as drivers side still doesnt work when speakers swapped over, had a feel around in the footwell trying to find connector - its a bugger of a place to get your head into, isnt it! Any clues as to where abouts I need to look as nothing jumped out at me in terms of connectors - just a bundle of wires passing through. Most likely wiring fault is a broken wire at the door hinge.
