We all hear about certain makes and models of cars being frequently driven badly/aggressively/attention-seeking/dawdling/bumbling etc.

But do you think any makes and models have a regular tendency to be driven well, respectfully and courteously?

Or, perhaps to put it another way, are any makes and models frequently 'ghosts' on the road; driven in such a way that they don't get noticed for all the right reasons?

The Audi A6 is often surprisingly well driven., although that could be that I expect Audis to be badly/aggressively driven.

Saabs are usually fairly well driven, as are the bigger Volvos which are proper cars (V60 & V90) - certainly doesn't apply to the XC Volvos though which are usually really badly driven.

I'm also yet to come across a newish Vauxhall Insignia or Ford Mondeo being driven particularly badly, though the older ones often are. They used to be some of the worst, but I think most of the aggressive sales reps who used to drive them now have an A3 or BMW 3 series.

Saabs seem to have gone down the pan in recent years.

My nomination would be Alfa Romeo.

I see the odd badly driven Mito, but by and large they cause no offence.

I've never seen a badly or inconsiderately driven Morgan, Bristol or Alvis.

Police cars often demonstrate some of the worst driving I’ve seen.

if in doubt

Probably can't afford the fuel consumption of going any quicker!

I stopped to let someone come through a road with cars parked all down one side earlier and the bloke behind me went bananas. A fat old bd in a pope mobile with his wife alongside him. Had to smile, most unexpected. You really can’t judge a driver by the car

Indeed. Lucky to survive that, too.

I'd forgotten about that little solecism...

For a performance / sports car, I nominate the Porsche 911. The ones I see are generally driven with "making progress" in mind, but still courteous and respectful. Or maybe that's just round these parts.

Where I live they are driven no better or worse than any other cars.

No doubt.

Seems a bit pathetic really.

When I'm riding the motorbike I find drivers of sports cars, Z4s, MX5s, etc, tend to be far more aware of what is going on around them than most other motorists. Lorry drivers are usually pretty much on the ball, too.

Lotus and VX220s seem to be the best driven of all cars...only owned by enthusiasts and driven well,....dheads seem to be drawn more towards high powered cars
