Look on what car com for deals
Good advice - then apply direct to the dealer with the offer you like. I would suggest go for the cheapest deals rather than a car you particularly want.
I got my Arteon this way and it took about two hours in all without leaving my desk (signing up for the deal I mean - getting the car took a bit longer!).

anyone know of any Brokers who can get more favourable terms in return for exceptionally high 'Deposit' eg 18 mths and sub £200pcm paymts?

Clearly a very attractive proposition from their point of view - minimising credit exposure, 'trivial' payment expectation

with interest rates as low as they are, will it make much difference?

What kind of deal did you get on the Arteon? It's a cracking looking car.

Its lovely - an SE 2.0 litre petrol (190PS) model.

£1,200 down and then 23 x £210/month (8,000 miles a year). Figures include VAT. Would have been cheaper (sub £200 a month) but they only had a white one left and VW charge extra for it. It was delivered 4 March fortunately.

Was from Listers VW main dealer/VWFS.

Did anyone have a car collected last lockdown? Mine is due to be collected on Monday 9th, not a problem if it isn't but it needs an MOT on the 30th November and the collection company state that they won't pick up without a valid MOT.

So questions would be am I now liable for more payments and MOT if they don't collect it in November?

Appreciate this is a very first world problem and many are now plunged into desperate times again.

are they not going to pick it up now on the 9th?

First thing is to determine that and if required then speak to the lease co.

Is £45 for an MOT gonna kill you?

Maybe a few hundred quid for repairs is the issue he’s trying to avoid?

If the lease agreement finishes on 9th November its the lease company's problem - not yours.
If they can't or won't collect the vehicle they need to make an arrangement with you for it to be stored and they need to arrange insurance. Its their car.

Really doesn't matter what the amount is - its not his car and not his problem if the MOT is due after the end of the lease agreement.

likely on a newish car? That's hysterical behaviour and if obvious things like tyres need replacing then it's unroadworthy.

Hysterical? There are plenty of tales of woe on here from people with 3 year old cars that need work done for MOTs. Nothing wrong with timing a lease end to avoid them.

A lot of leases are three years.

I know, that's not old, a properly maintained car at 3 yrs should sail through an MOT

Should... if any risk can be avoided by ending the lease a couple of weeks early what’s the problem with that?

It's not the money thats the issue, I've bought a car to replace it and my insurance won't cover 2 cars, I have a driveway for 2 cars and 1 car already in the garage.

Not the end of the world just a bit of a pain. At its last service (2 years) it needed 2 droplinks (done under warranty) so I am I little worried to be fair. Idea of leasing was for it be be fairly hassle free. The cars done 13k so should be ok but as its a Peugeot so anyone knows

But at the end of the lease it’s not your problem. Don’t insure or mot it. Park it in the road.

I’d say just contact your lease provider and discuss it with them - tell them you can’t insure the car beyond the collection date and ask them what they want to do.

Our last lease was due to be collected the day we went into national lockdown. We discussed it with the company and in the end we purchased temporary insurance which they reimbursed us for. We ended up keeping it until mid June when it was finally collected. Yes we did still carry a bit of risk, but it wasn’t being driven anywhere and was parked in a quiet spot so was fairly low likelihood of anything happening. We also took 50 ish photos of the car to show condition at the original point of collected, date stamped them all, and emailed them all to the leasing company on the day of collection, so condition was recorded. No issues on collection.

My new BMW X3 M40i gets delivered on Wednesday, 4th November and my Volvo XC60 is due to be picked up Friday, 6th November by BCA. No worries about the X3 being delivered but not so certain about XC60 being picked up. Spoke to BCA who says should be OK. Insurance expires on 6th November so if they don't pick it up will tell Santander that it is parked in the drive but not insured.
