I have a daily runaround which consists of a Suzuki swift sport 2015 which is a cracking little motor. But its getting to that time of ownership where I fancy a change.

I do about 8k a year, a few trips on the motorway but mainly b roads.

Few prerequisites.
-Cruise control as I'm lazy.
-8k max.
-still has some fun in the driving experience.

The suzuki has been faultless, nippy, decent in the long trips with nothing wrong aslt all... But a few mates have recent purchased new cars and it's put me in the mind set to change to something new. But what?

I have a mk1 TT which is a lovely bit of fun when needed. Cheap to work on and is mainly used for me to tinker! But I fancy abit more power/lose some mpg/gain some noise and is practical ish for the other car.

So far looked at
130i
Z4 coupe (abit too small)
Golf edition 30/35
350z (interior ruins it)
Dc5
Aristo v300
330i
Mr2 2zz (thought about dailying the tt)
And a few hundred others.

Dc5 is a top choice currently and the Aristo, completely different ends of the spectrum... Which has me stumped. 130i a possible Inbetween?

Can someone tell me what I want! Ahh!

I had a couple of 3.0Si Z4 Coupes for over 5 years and loved them as they just felt so different being low and with the seats being just in front of the rear axle.

Last year I bought an E90 330i with the same engine as a daily and although the engine is the same it just never felt as special to drive as it was so much more refined, quieter, slower and generally more "grown-up"!

If you like RWD and a petrol straight 6 a 130i might be a good compromise - I would have bought one instead of my 330i if I could have found one in budget. rolleyes

I bought a 2000 Seat Leon Cupra in 2003 that I had for a couple of years and as much as I loved how it went I didn't get on with how it handled as deep down I'm an RWD fan.

With such a diverse list of options you probably need to drive as many as you can and hopefully there will be one that just feels right. thumbup

For me the Aristo is the pick for me & would be the one I'd buy:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Aristo-V300-2JZ-...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Aristo-Vertex-Ed...

After that lookout for the Nissan Laurel/Cedric.

5.5 CLK500 this is an often overlooked car but it actually makes more power than the CLK55 AMG & doesn't suffer AMG tax when it comes to parts either I will admit I'm a bit bias.

CLK 55 AMG I still miss mine

Golf R32

Leftfield

2.5T Stagea

Insignia VXR these have a cracking V6 & will daily with ease as well as being a bit of a sleeper

What's wrong with the 350 interior? I'd argue it outclasses everything else in your list aesthetically.

just seemed very plasticy? I dont know why but just felt dated too, and not much bigger than the TT,

I would love two sports cars but sensible me is telling me whats the point?

I saw those two aristos that you shared, they really are a beast in sheep's yakuza style clothing.

I've always loved the thought of a merc, but at 28 a feel like its a older man's car. Even with a very good engine the style has me umming.

The complete opposite of the merc with the r32. Only ever seen them driven by the boy racer types. And would like something on a different platform than the TT.

I didn't really know the monaro was in budget so I'll have to go and see one. I just don't think they have aged very well and you have that awkward moment of saying you own a vauxhall.

The stagea I don't think I've ever seen before, it looks absolutely humongous... I didn't know estates got so big. That would be an interesting buy! I wouldn't know where to start!

I keep coming back to the aristo.. 2k cheaper than most and seems an epic drive from the little I can find.. I'll have to go see one..

I can't think of much else!

TVR S or Wedge.

The TT is not a sports car. And if you're wedded, it can be equipped with cruise.

I love TTs. I also have TVR in my blood.

I used the TT as a daily when I was younger, and worked on it alot! 265hp and 4wd really makes it a very good GT car, a mate of mine is trying to convince me to get rid of it and get a 2zz mr2... But for 2k... I really love the TT, easy to work on and cheap... Not much else with its refinement for the price. (I am going to take my mates 2zz compressor out for a spin though) biggrin

And I don't have tvr money haha!
