New to the forum and been browsing for a few days, interested in a new S3 sportback or saloon. Anyone seen any good deals apart from the ones on leaseloco?

Depends on your own finances and what you can afford coupled with what car you want.

Also for a basic rate tax payer £5k car allowance is more likely to be around £283 a month net. £241 for a higher rate payer.
how did you work that out? if added to a salary of lets say 36k, taking the yearly salary to 41k, would it not equate to around 320 or so a month?
Go to an online salary tax calc page and put in 36000 and write down the result. Then try 41k and subtract the results. Divide by 12. That’s your additional take home. £3400 pa / 12.

I have an A35 AMG in Executive spec which goes back in June after a two year lease. I've ordered a Golf R to replace it as (a) cheaper to lease and (b) hopefully better build quality as the A35 rattles like hell. Have you test driven an A35 yet? (Note - I didn't before ordering and wished I had! Hoping the Golf R is better as haven't' test drive that either - doh!).
The quality of the Mk8 Golf is outstanding. Drove a new Golf R last week and it’s a stunning bit of kit. Also absurdly fast!

It was drag raced against an A35 and M135i and by the end of the 1/4 mile it was three car lengths ahead. It was only half a car length behind the A45S on the same day!!

No - I think you forgot about National Insurance.

Here is a spreadsheet you can use to work it all out http://bit.ly/PCHCC-1

Nice to hear it’s good. It’s only 10 bhp more and so it’s interesting that it feels fast.

Evening all

What do we think 2021 will bring in terms of deals.

I have a lease ending in July and it’s slim pickings on variety at the moment presumably because the dealers are in lockdown.

Do you think there could be a big push to shift stock later this year?
No chance. They are making and selling less cars. I can’t see them discounting to shift stock.
Agreed.

I think thats it for good lease deals. If not forever then for the mid term at least.

No stock about and car manufacturers have gone bonkers over the last few years re their prices.

I reckon lease prices have increased 30-50% in the last few years.

Think the 2/hand car market will be pretty active for a while.

My Arnold Clark Kuga ST Line X ordered just before Xmas is now at the dealer, it’s coming on the 11th March. Two weeks earlier than expected.
That's good to hear. Which engine was this? I ordered a 1.5 manual st line x. Last i heard it was expected at the dealer sometime next week though it had already been delayed 3 times. I ordered start of November.
Ordered mine mid November, due at dealer next week.... 2.0 190 AWD ST Line X. Also Arnold Clark

Fingers crossed no delays.

Have you been asked for the upront payment yet?

SWMBO wants a Velar or RR Sport to replace the current Tiguan that is due to go in the next few months.
Struggling to justify an extra £100+/mth for the Sport over the Velar, best I’ve found is 3+48 at £532 for a D200 R- Dynamic with a coupe of options (met paint and tints) - can’t seem to find anything cheaper.

Not an amazing deal, but cheaper than buying new or even a 3yr old one through the dealers.

Am trying to convince her to look at a Macan at £494/mth but a chunky £4800 deposit is putting her off although that’s a PCP via Porsche UK

Wasn’t really looking for a 4 year deal, but slim pickings out there at the moment - any other recommendations?
Have you got any details on the Porsche PCP? Mileage etc.

Don't forget to add on the company car tax you would be paying, and the tax you get back if you get a mileage allowance under the maximum.
Also don't forget to ask your next questions that aren't related to dealson the general leasing questions thread, not the deals thread wink

I've just signed up for the E-Tron, much higher mileage (22.5k pa) so the monthlies are a fair bit higher and a 3 year deal, but made sense in that i can run as a business lease so the company pays for it all and 0% BIK; also should save on the running costs as will charge overnight.

worked out ok for a premium large SUV; apparently according to the last few pages Audi are more premium than I realised smile

given the paucity of deals for Q7, X5 anything RR it will do! Seems I'm doing my bit for the environment too, although how the production cost and batteries in these things equate to environmentally friendly I'll never know!
I presume you own your company? In which case I believe you can only claim back 50% of the VAT and offset the rest of the costs against any corp tax so that this is only 19% but that still leaves the majority (approx 76%) coming form you via your company, unless I have missed something? If there is any way round it that wold be great as I fancy a nice EV but only if I can offset more that 24% of the costs

It’s a car allowance not a co car. Tax paid on the allowance not the car.

You aren't paying company car tax as you point out. So it's only fair to add this money that you're not paying by opting out - to the money you have to spend as it's money you're saving.

See Here

Also the "tax you get back" refers to the tax refund you get when you claim the difference between the 45/25p a mile the government allows you to get and the mileage allowance you get off your employer.

Got my Volvo through their Lincoln Branch after seeing they were cheapoest on Carwow( leased through Volvo/Santander Finance) they were excellent, with updates on arrival time of car (from China) every time there was one.
Even pointed out to me that buying the 3 service pack option was way cheaper than adding maintenance.

Got my V90 from Stoneacre Lincoln as well a few years back. Easily one of the best leasing experiences I've had - great to deal with and super quick to respond and called back when they said they would (one of my main bugbears with brokers).

Was able to go from initial contact to receiving finance documents in one day whilst sitting on a beach in Ibiza!
