I know a lot of people have probably moaned about this already, however how the F did the price went up so much since last August? Unbelievable!!!

I ordered a 20reg Leon Cupra in white last summer, the initial payment was £1,100 - £1,300 and then SEAT contributed too. It was a 3 year lease and it worked out £197 a month or something like this (had to cancel this order due to unforeseeable circumstances).

I am now in a position to get a new car on a lease and want something really fancy, but the prices are eye watering. Previous Golf R was like £250, now it's more like £320+.

Do you reckon the price will just continue to go up every year? How are people still leasing cars when they're so expensive nowadays? I know a lot of folks here talk about leasing, but I cannot get my head around the latest figures.
Any car can be £250 a month if you put enough down initially. There a worldwide parts issues and factory ordered cars are taking 6 months plus. Prices will remain high for the foreseeable.

Seat called me today to book delivery on the day following my cooling off period. Really impressed with how quick the process has been - from applying on website to receiving vehicle will be under 3 weeks!

Got my registration number looks like it was registered/V5'd 30/04/2021 (not May as I think someone suggested) so warranty will end 8 weeks before I give it back on 24/06/2024. Now for insurance frown

Quick question - do all leases come with the 5 day insurance thing still?

Supply and demand. When the good deals were out not many people knew about leasing now everyone and their granny is leasing the prices are nuts.

All good things come to an end, the last number of years have been great for leasing deals but now it's becoming a bit too popular, the penny has dropped and those on PCP have turned to PCH which makes sense if you never want to own the vehicle and drive a vehicle at lower monthly cost and a spec that is higher than you would of got for the same money with a PCP and often on a smaller deposit. However PCH was nowhere near as lucrative for the dealer or finance company so that may be about to change, as they widen their margins.
There will always be lease deals as surplus stock is shifted or a need to move certain models and fill dealership forecourts with good secondhand stock, this is where the dealers then make up on some of the earlier losses with PCH deals.

The last 2 lease deals I could of purchased my lease from VWFS at a price often 50% below the new price and even after offsetting my lease costs still makes a generous saving, so it was good all round, a bit too good it seems.

The deals may return but current market pressures and the price of raw materials such as steel is keeping prices high, not just for leasing but all new car sales. So unless this changes the deals may never be what we saw over the last number of years.

So the latest update to this, which I have found via going to Skoda direct is that I will be getting the new shape Kodiaq.

Nice to be informed! Still no clue as to when I will be looking at taking an approximate delivery.

The wait continues!

Anyone got a build date for their LeasingOptions Kodiaq yet? Placed order 26th January and still waiting on anything tangible beyond "no build date yet".
Have you had any change to this?

Ours is the same. Yet seen people ordered after us have had their cars or at least a confirmed build date.

Skoda say no build date and we should speak to leasing options.

Leasing Options say covid and / or chip shortage. If that’s right then fair enough, just unsure why others getting theirs!

That's obvious, but my point remains in that last summer the initial was around £1k mark with around £197p/m for something like a Cupra Leon or the likes, whereas now it's circa £300 p/m with £2.5k initial - insane if you ask me. I literally just started browsing the other day and was shocked how much the costs have risen. This has definitely put me off leasing.

True, I guess. Demand is what hiking up the costs.

I do hope it all settles and costs start decreasing. As I mentioned above, I have just started looking for a new ride and was stunned to find all of these crazy high costs for stboxes - I appreciate that people love their newly delivered cars, however when you're ordering a Skoda that comes up higher than an A5 S Line from last summer, then that's just bizarre.

Should've never cancelled my last-August orders.
Wasn’t that the run out of the previous generation cupra whereas these leases are for brand new model? Not really apples with apples

Just gone for a VW Tiguan elegance trim from Yes Lease. 9+35 with 10k miles at £282 in its base colour or +£18 MTH for a metallic. Weird thing is, it was my other half who applied for the finance (I'm looking to finance a motorbike shortly) but the credit search from VWFS appeared on my credit file but with her date of birth. She's had no notification of a search on her report but the finance has been approved. I've sent an enquiry to VW underwriters but it seems like someone messed up somewhere. Hopefully still get the vehicle as I really like the new shape and the elegance had all the trimmings we were after (sunroof, heated steering wheel, electric tailgate, digital cockpit etc).

Does anybody use skoda connect? I Can see an option to use my own wifi, therefore i could create a mobile hotspot from my phone and have people connect to that through the vehicle? (i have unlimited data so that would be a cost saving option!)

Would that work, does anybody do this?
Maybe one for the vag group forums.

Hi Guys,

I placed an placed an order for:
Volvo XC40 SUV Momentum B4 MHEV 197ps - Auto
1+35 at £307.18
6k mileage per annum
No options - Black Stone paint & Charcoal Interior.
Excess mileage 13.8 per mile.
Expected delivery August / September.

Opted for the B4 engine over the T3 - abit more punchy than the T3. I visited the local Volvo dealership and was fortunate to test drive the B4, although is was the AWD. Comfy, quiet, spacious and well built - was pretty impressed with it. The R Design looks amazing though!

Leon Cupra’s were £220pm last year? I didn’t see that but that seems impossibly cheap as they were £250pm in 2016 and when ever I’ve seen them mentioned this last few years they were £320pm. We have had a 2016 and a 2019 Cupra (£250pm and £269pm on 1+23).

(Prices based on 8k pa).

Good price that, and I would agree about the B4 engine being the better option! If my M135i deal falls through I will be copying yourself with one of these

Looks a decent price, do you have a link / contact? Could a ideal replacement for the wife's Evoque later this year. Cheers!
