It was a joke, I wouldn't say £175 is a massive drop to be honest.

A slow Friday for me wink. I have tennis at 10.00 so I'd better wake up properly....

All good, I would be happy with anything above £16k for it normally. Ironically all I need from my car at the moment is to be able to fit a road bike in it and my car doesn't have the folding seat option. I'd love to change it for something else but high part ex/WBAC prices unfortunately means high forecourt prices for cars.

I have dangled it under the nose of an ex-colleague who is now a motor trader and has said it's hard to buy stock at the moment so maybe he will make me an offer I can't refuse...

Right so used car values have gone up and so have prices on the forecourt.
According to wbac my car has devalued just £4K in 3.5 years!! My loan was £260 a month and this depreciation is £97 a month! So I have a nice equity of around £4.5k.

However, I am trying to buy a used car and the dealers are taking the Michael on what margin they want. I’m looking at 25k cars and the wbac valuation on them is only 19-22k at best - so this is a really bad deal imo

When I bought current car the valuation on wbac was the same as what i paid!

Thing is you have some equity now but what can you put that equity into?

At the moment it only works if you can walk away now.

Anything can change next month.

I’d like to use the equity to go up in class/spec

Last time my budget was strict £20k and now it’s £25k. I’m pretty much there, there just isn’t stock!

Not a fan of all the exterior mounting options to be honest, just want to be able to open the boot, throw the bike in or even take the front wheel off then throw it in. My car is a 3 series saloon, with hindsight I would have bought a 4 series gran coupe which has a hatchback tailgate and has folding seats as standard!

Could still get one but I'll be paying anything from about £3k to £5k more compared to the value of mine to have a very similar car albeit with a boot that meets my needs as well as some other little bonuses like electric seats.

Will probably just end up sticking with my car until I know what my work travel arrangements are looking like for the next year and put up with using the wife's car when I do need to put the bike in the car.

I'm just on this thread to see what everyone else has been doing with their quotes.

I bought a fleet stock deal A Class on a PCP with £1k deposit and I'm being offered £4k more than the settlement figure, 28 months into it.

I need a bigger car anyway so it looks like I will be taking the offer and getting something on a 20/70 plate to replace and I might even be able to buy on a 60 month personal loan rather than a 48 month PCP with barely £15-£20 change on monthly outgoing.

A no brainer. Just cant decide what to get!

My car has gone down today on wbac. A few cars I watch on auto trader have just suddenly increased £500 or so - there must be some dynamic pricing going on

My friend recently sold his 2020 Hatchback to WBAC, they didn't try to knock him down at all, similar mileage to yours.

Local VW dealer that supplied it bid £29,000

WBAC paid £32,000 less £100 admin & payment fee.

I popped into B&Q Saturday and there was a WBAC pop up inspection set up. Basically a small sign and a couple of coned off car park spaces. In the 15 minutes I was there he saw two customers. Must be doing a roaring trade.

Just sold my car at WBAC and while I was probably up there as the most ideal scenario in the sense of no finance hassle and easy to sell car with low miles and in mint condition, It was still shockingly easy, quick and hassle free. Got £12,200 for a '68 reg Polo 1.0TSI minus the transaction fee/fast payment. Someone will genuinely be getting a great car, though.

The stars aligned here for sure but this car cost me approx what a years bus pass would be in depreciation for 2.5 years ownership. Albeit with 18 months of lockdowns limiting use!

Due to this thread I have valued my 330i a few times, but not really selling it

I paid £19,400 from a non-BMW but main dealer in Sept last year. I can't be bothered with detailing damage etc so prices are probably a few hundred quid up on a real offer

Six weeks ago £18,250
Four weeks ago £18,250
Two weeks ago £18,500 smile
This week £18,325.

It's gained about 1500 miles in that period

Arguably its worth more this week than last week as it now has 12 months MOT and just has it's second full dealer service

I have done around 12000 miles in 10 months so could be the best value car I have ever had, except of course I probably would be paying top money to replace it.

Sold my audi last week. Last year WBAC offer was c9k. Now up to 10.5k. I ebayed it in the end got 11.5k and after the auction ended I was inundated with messages asking if it fell through they would pay full end price. The high bidder turned up the next morning like a shot.
Just did a valuation on my old car and its now £12k. Mental.

A local large indy car dealership is currently offering £1000 over WBAC on any car regardless of age, mileage or condition.

WTF.

I suspect they won't be offering me £1315 for my 14 year old Megane!

Not sure was an advert I heard on the radio a couple of days ago. If I hear it again I will post up details.
