Yeah it's going silly at the moment, I paid £27,500 for my Civic Type R last November and the latest valuation last week was £30,350! And then Lotus went and announced the Emira... Must not be a naughty boy

Now WBAC will give me £32,000. When is the bubble going to burst?

WBAC and Motorway currently offering me £34,000 for my Mustang, which I paid £32800 for 20 months and 17,000 miles ago.

It's really tempting me to sell, as I'd expected a £10,000 loss over 3 years when I originally bought it.

The problem is replacing it, I want to go for more cylinders while I still have the chance...

But at the same time, I don't like the idea of losing an immaculate 3-year-old car with great performance and low running costs.

You and me both. The only scenario where that would work is if you sell at the top and buy after a (potential) slump. But then again you'll be paying the dealer spread anyway which may wipe out a big chunk of the "profit"...

See I'm in the same boat, I love the Type R - I wish I didn't then I could pocket the extra £4k, but it simply is as good as all the car reviews say. Mrs Badger's Peugeot 208 Gti has also gone up - you know things are getting weird when a non-classic Peugeot starts increasing in value!

Mrs car was up for 12k in Jan last year, now it's 15k. She paid 16k for it 2 years ago.
It's only a bloody Qashqai!

I bought a 2019 VW Up GTI in May for £12.2k.

With this thread in mind I did a wbac and they offered £12.4k :-0

Which made me look at cheap lease deals, one thing lead to another and the dealer I bought it off matched the £12.4k

Leased Renault Zoe R135 GT Line incoming for £230 per month.

Up was great, but I wanted to go back to EV at some point anyway so took advantage :-)

I pitched my 2017 Renault Megane Sport Tourer GT to WBAC, Motorway and Wizzle over the last week.
Before this the WBAC value has been fluctuating between £12k & £14k over the last 12 months.

Motorway and Wizzle valued it at a little less than £14k. I had a few bids up to that value.

A couple of days ago the WBAC value increased to £14.8k, so last night I jumped. 26 minutes later in the pouring rain I took £14.6k for it after deductions (one alloy + fee). I’m very happy with that. It’s a little more than I paid for it 18 months and 5000 miles ago, after discount.

Can’t fault my WBAC experience. I was expecting it to be a melodramatic pain but it couldn’t have been more pleasant - enjoyable even - and straightforward. Might have had something to do with the excellent condition of the car and it being the last appointment of the day in a downpour, or maybe Philip Schofield is in fact right.

Off the back of this thread I just valued my 650 convertible - probably not a car they’d particularly want! £14.5k, which is a couple of thousand more than they offered last year when I was idly checking…

Put my wife's Puma ST in today for fun.

She paid £26,398 three months ago, brand new.

Wbac offered £26,685 today.

She likes it though.

I’m using this bubble to shift my 62 Reg Bentley GT V8. 11 months of ownership, service due very shortly, and I’m getting out of it at almost dead even what I paid. Cheapest year of motoring yet, and it’s a flipping Bentley!

I’m getting emails on a weekly basis from them, desperate to buy my 5 year old Disco Sport. The problem being, it’s the only car the whole family fits in, so I’d have to replace it with something else, which means buying at inflated prices.

Annoyingly they gave me a laughably low offer for my 10 year old IS250 which I currently have no use for as a result of working from home for the foreseeable.

Took it to them today and they paid £9800.61

£200 reduction for two small marks on the front alloys, and the rear bumper had some marks.

Interestingly WBAC are offering £35,280 for my 6 month old GR Yaris with 5k miles on the clock (£33,495 purchase price)... I'm not convinced you could sell it for more than that so what are they playing at?

Had you already put the damage into the quote and they further knocked it down?

Great result.
No I didn't do the damage bit, just turned up.

Some would argue it was fair wear and tear for a 5 year old car, but I was happy with the end price.

We paid £13,750 for it four and a half years ago, ex demo car.

Works out at £17 per week to have owned it.

Bought my UP GTI in May for £12.2k from a dealer

WBAC offered £12.4k last week - I offered it back to the dealer I bought it off for £12.4k which he agreed to

WBAC upped the offer to £12.7k this morning

I wont go back on my deal with the previous dealer, but what a crazy market.

I wasn't looking to sell, I like the car but selling and then leasing seems a cost-effective route at the moment

I am leasing a new Seat Mii electric for £162 a month instead

Getting supply for Cinch. And taking the opportunity to put some smaller independents out of business by controlling the flow of stock - given BCA, Cinch and WBAC are all the same company.
