It depends. If you're public sector I believe it does, however for private sector it generally (YMMV) doesn't. I confirmed this with my HR/Finance dept, you might want to check with yours.
Thanks, yeah I’m NHS so it affects pension significantly which is a shame otherwise it would’ve been a decent deal. Model Y now with 1 year free supercharging - https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/modely/design#overview... It looks like they may have lowered the AWD price, too.
Could be more to follow before EOY and Juniper arrival.

There are some SS bargains but you’re generally paying much more than you should be, because the SS company is keeping most of the tax for themselves.
Facts here. I ran a full cost comparison across term for a Model Y a few months back for Sal Sac v Public Rate and it was quite clear that crazy prices were being charged with the tax saving being used to make the price closer to respectable while trousering a significant portion of it.Gdog50 said:

I think you're right about the AWD price reduction - it's only £500 or so more than the RWD over the term. Personal preference whether you're happy to sacrifice a bit of range for a bit of extra speed.Could be more to follow before EOY and Juniper arrival.
I'm waiting to see what price the Juniper 'refresh' version comes in at. I'd rather pay a little bit more for the latest tech (and possibly a bonnier looking car).

It's not just extra speed, it is 4WD vs RWD which for a car with that power is a massive difference and well worth the extra.I'm waiting to see what price the Juniper 'refresh' version comes in at. I'd rather pay a little bit more for the latest tech (and possibly a bonnier looking car).

Couple of things to note though - its the smaller battery with a piddly range and the absolute base spec model.
Still a decent deal and worthy of mention, more interesting than anything else at that price point.I did notice it seems to be contract hire rather than PCP I think from that link. When you click to show key features it states "Suitable for businesses of all sizes - contact us for full details" which suggests VAT might need adding. I'd investigate more but I can't infuriate myself with a lack of rear doors again!

Depends, I am in a public sector scheme (police scheme) and I have just ordered a SS car, my pension contributions remain based on my full substantive salary. If they weren’t I wouldn’t bother with a SS car as being in my last 3 years service before I can retire it would have a significant negative impact on my pension. I have 25 years service on the old final salary scheme and that is based on the best of your last 3 years salary before I retire.
I can likely get the same deal.. what have you gone for out of interest? Enjoy your last few years!SDavyy said:

A Volvo ex30 performance plus, should have it before Christmas. A present to myself after a fairly stty 3 years. A lot of it caused by a certain police forces inability to deal with anything properly. To be honest after my experience I genuinely wonder what’s the point any more so I probably won’t be enjoying my last few years, can’t wait to leave. Still do my bit though but I won’t be putting myself out or taking risks for the public good any more
