Is it a cardinal sin to add options to a lease car? I'm looking at a Skoda Superb Estate PHEV but want Sportline and some options.

The mileage and contract term I want seems to make the online offerings worse than my local Skoda dealer. Just seems odd when most say don't go to the dealer for the lease.

not a sin but it doesn't make financial sense as much, because you are buying the option in entireity not leasing it.

It makes leasing a bit pointless as you’ll pay for the options in its entirety.

It can sometimes make more financial sense to go for a trim above that might have the options included.

It can depend on the deal. Sometimes the higher trims get discounted more, just look at the scores on LeaseLoco for example.

Also packages can sometimes be good value if the manufacturer has either stick or build slots they want to shift. I had the tech pro pack on my A4 which is a £6k option for an extra £30 a month which is only £720 over the term. Other times the options simply get divided by the term so are relatively expensive .

I always say speak to dealers when looking at a lease. After all, pretty much all broker deals come from the dealer network.

You need the business development person or fleet department (not all dealers do fleet). For the cost of a bit of time on the phone, you might save the admin fees, and possibly a bit more if the dealer has something in stock they want to get shot of.

Thanks everyone.

I have an IPace which is owned outright my Ltd Co. The battery has failed and other issues so once fixed it's going. As I don't know when it will be fixed (2 months waiting already) I don't mind waiting for a new car.

Local dealer - Skoda Superb Sportline Estate Phev with some options gives a list of £52,795. Business contract including VAT as I'm not registered is £1800 plus £600 for 36 months 12K a year. I don't get the VAT but can offset against Corp Tax. Plus the Jag warranty is £107 per month (bit of a rip off IMO) which is £3,852.

Other option is to spec the car and use Drive the Deal for a PCP - more expensive but option to purchase. Perhaps with a high spec'd example there might be equity at the end? Or if I like it and there isn't anything else that suits I could keep it.

Once question with PCP - is there any point paying a larger deposit and lower monthlies? Assuming you work the TCO and make a decision? I've played with figures and balloon doesn't change (I had assumed it would being new to all this)

Might be worth having a chat with your accountant and see if they suggest CH over PCP or vice versa.

Not sure what mileage you do, but you can claim all of the VAT back on the maintenance element if you decided to take it

Is anyone going for the 330e deal posted a few pages back?

Seems to be a campaign on that model as a few other brokers are offering it at a similar price.

I haven't tried dealers yet but after reading the last few posts I'll definitely call a few tomorrow.

Any recommended BMW dealers?

Most recently got an e5008 on order, current lease is an ID Buzz, I've had a Skoda Karoq and a couple of Seat Leon Cupra estates.

I have the dual motor Lexus version of this car on lease (basically the same car but not as fast - some minor trim changes - platform also shared with the Subaru Solterra)

It is a lovely place to be inside - if your use is restricted to mostly town and the odd medium journey, you'll love it... but the battery/efficiency means you'll struggle to get more than 220 miles out of it, especially if you use the AC/Heating.

It all comes down to what kind of driving you do... but it really is lovely if you can get by with the reduced range compared to a VW/Audi/Kia/Tesla

Feel free to ask any other questions.

Thinking of pulling the trigger on the Ioniq 5N deal

£338 on 18 months, 9 down, 8k. Would be my first EV but I think the power will be enough to keep things exciting. Hoping to get a test drive tomorrow.
