Electric VW Up! Not as cheap as before (shock), but still seems fairly competitive;

Weird, I'd take this as I need something for my better half.... however, upon going to do more reading as to whether the e-Up would be workable.... VW site says you can't order it any more.

Didn't vw announce they're resuming production again a month or two back as they can't build their other EVs quick enough. Still a 6+ month waiting time I believe.

Where are all the 'best lease deals'...?

Not been on for a little while and it seems worse now than it was at the beginning of the year!!

Depends what car interests you? Very few good deals around at the moment. I use What Car Leasing, Leasing.com, Stoneacre Leasing, Fleet Prices, Gateway2Lease, Leasing Options and Nationwide Vehicle Contracts. Some people use Central Vehicle Leasing, Vanarama Leasing or Leaseloco, but I find them sites more expensive.

My mrs is half way through a 3yr lease on her Kia Sportage.

She’s having a fair bit of trouble with it. It’s just had a new clutch and today a screeching sound and engine management light on. We’ve just dropped it round to the Kia dealers as ironically it was booked in for a service in the morning anyhow.

She’s completely lost faith in it as she needs a reliable car. Her commute is 180miles 4 times a week leaving at 03:45 in the morning.

My question is how do we get her out of the lease deal 18 months early without it costing a fortune.

Thanks.

Read your contract - does it have any termination clauses?
The ones I've read say you're liable for the the full term.

I thought you have the option to buy out after halfway through?

Depends on a few factors, but check your Lease Agreement. A lot of contracts will have penalties of have to pay 50% of the monthly payments due for the balance.

We were quite lucky when we spoke to Alphabet in January last year, we were able to get out of our Mini Cooper S for 1 Monthly Payment.

The hardest part was finding a car that would be delivered within that 30 day period they gave us of notice before they would pick the car up. If you do go down the Lease Option again, you will be looking at "in-stock" deals unless you can wait

As above - generally speaking you have to pay 50% of the remaining payments to get out of a lease early.

Given the issues you've been having though I'd maybe go down the 'customer service' route and try to get some sort of goodwill - either free termination or a replacement car etc.

That's PCP, not PCH.

You will be legally tied for the duration of the lease on the financial side. With some funders there will be a termination clause whereby you can end the lease by paying approximately 50% of the remaining payments.

Your issue however is that you feel the car has faults and is not to the quality expected. You need to document all the issues you have, and allow attempts for the car to be fixed under warranty.

The car will either be fixed to your satisfaction or not. If the car continues to cause problems beyond what is deemed acceptable, then you need to complain to the finance company you have the contract with. Explain the issues and the steps you have taken to unsuccessfully resolve, and that you wish them to terminate the contract (without penalty) or replace the car with another.

Edit: typos

Has anyone managed to extend their lease with ALD beyond the 90 day informal extension? If so, what options were given to you? Going to phone them later this afternoon but thought having a general idea of potential options beforehand may be useful. TIA

Solid bit of advice there - Kia's are sold on their 7 year warranty, so I'd push that side first before just exiting the agreement at potentially a significant cost to yourself for being stuck with a lemon.

Does list price increase automatically increase lease price?
I thought it was calculated on residuals

Ok thanks, my neighbour sold his RS4 to WEbac when he was just over halfway, made a tidy amount over the surrender figure and spent plenty of time crowing about it in the pub!

Yes my RS280 was due to go end of Feb, they extended to end of May & now extended end Aug.

Slightly more expensive than original but car nowhere near being delivered, looking at Aug - Nov, ST3.

My car was due back last December but extended it to March as my new lease was due but this has now been put back to July. I emailed yesterday and they have agreed to extend it again till August. I pay a daily fee which works out similar to my original deal. Save when there is less days in the month.
