Location is great….. Millions have been spent on massive houses all over the place!!!! Some serious money has moved into Hooky and the area… even if it isn’t quite the Cotswolds.
THJ looks to operate differently to his dad/sibling & he’s clearly looking to distance himself based on the location of his new facility which is very different from a modern business park in Leicestershire/close to the infamous pond/lake. THJ also appears to operate away now from the main family model (see https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... i.e. his stock is more of the expensive classic car sector rather than modern hyper cars etc. I like his videos on Y/T & his knowledge of the classic cars he’s got & he appears to put value on the way his cars are prepared & patience in waiting for them to become available - I think he sold part of Toto Wolfs private collection in 2021.Edited by MrC986 on Sunday 6th February 20:10

Yep… the firs garage where i bought all my recent mitsubishis is now trashed ready for a supercar garage… all ready for a heli-pad and theres a huge great big house going in a nearby field. He’s basically bought the farm and garage of the firs owner.
Living in Hooky (Hook Norton… old hooky, gold, twelve days fame) it will be a bit different to L200’s pilling out the place but with Mitsubishi pulling out of the UK its not surprising… they did shift loads of Shoguns and L200’s.
Curious as to the local pub????
Have to say, since Beckham moved in over the road and Clarksons farm on the doorstep… the number of Multi-million pound houses going up within a mile or two is incredible… Milcombe to Hooky is now millionaires row!!!
I’ve missed this thread entirely (I’m not in the super car market and know nothing of Tom Hartley Jr). The Firs takes me back! That’s where my parents bought the old (it was old when they bought it in the 80s) Daihatsu FourTrak. I learned to drive in that thing in our field in Milcombe, a village that wasn’t attractive for millionaires.
I’m more likely to drink Hooky these days than I was back in my teenage years…
I left the area a long time ago and my parents moved away 15+ years ago, so I haven’t been back. Sounds like the new money that moved into Chipping Norton (“Chippy” as it was known to us) has spread out.
For those into supercars enjoy!
Video 4 just out

Was supposed to have been the final video but probably not surprising that there will have to be a video 5 as it looks like the project will overrun slightly.
It has been a really interesting series to follow. And fair play to showing and talking about the lows not just the highs. He's definitely spent a bit of money there.

Nobody seems to have clocked on yet that the whole place is built from local ironstone (biggest industry in Hooky before beer) and not cotswold sandstone
Because it s not in the cotswolds!!!!
Its all starting to come together now though as they re tidying the place up! Going to be stunning when an F1 car is placed in the front window!!
Will be changing my dog walking route!

An intriguing watch and such a huge project. With the motor trade as we know it in such turmoil, time will tell if it was a wise decision to be spending such a huge amount of money on a bespoke facility, be it catering for the very top end of the market. I'm sure THJ knows what he's doing.
Any guesses what the final bill will come to?

What's going to happen to Supercars in twenty/thirty years when 95% 0f cars on the road will be electric and most of the petrol stations have closed due to lack of demand, with one every twenty miles.
Are values going to plummet?
Same with motorbikes.
Just a thought.

If (and it's a big if) what you say happens, a petrol station every 20 miles will be fine for what will become toys while the electric car is the daily driver. Are values going to plummet?

Sustainable fuel will be delivered by the barrel at huge cost and just maybe motoring will be the preserve of the elite.
Reading through the thread, why the downer on THJ? Seems some very bitter posts for a guy who has achieved great things, is investing in the UK and clearly at the top of his game?

Joking aside I did wonder after watching the first video if it had have been worth putting a fuel tank in the ground and having their own pump. I know they are not doing test drives every 5 minutes but there will be a lot of cars on site and I'd have thought being able to refuel on site would be handy, rather than "Mr Jones is coming at 10 to look at the Ferrari I must whizz out on a quick 8 mile round trip and put half a tank of fuel in it"
