Haha yikes.I do not want to know what happened thereAbsolutely blows my mind that any seller would not address that before advertising the car for sale.
Do they actually hope to make a sale?!
Some of the other pictures display distinct grotiness throughout and whilst it can all be cleaned I think I’d just pass in favour of any number of the other examples that are either clean, or at least have been cleaned!

Even a classic beaded seat cover would be preferable!
Anyway, this looks like it can't decide if it is full council with the black alloys and tips, or not with the clear glass...

What are the 'black tips'?Anyway, this looks like it can't decide if it is full council with the black alloys and tips, or not with the clear glass...
To confuse the matter even further - The tow hitch means that it could be a council estate fly-tipper or a country manor utility vehicle.

I should have used a comma, or otherwise differentiated the [exhaust] tips, as I don't think that's how Subaru sold it. To confuse the matter even further - The tow hitch means that it could be a council estate fly-tipper or a country manor utility vehicle.

I thought that is what you meant, but to me they look like normal chrome with the black portion being the darkness inside of the pipe. Thanks for reminding me to look at Subarus, but they seem to be slower and/or more expensive to run than my rattly old BMW diesel.

Or it could be someone with a bike rack or caravan, or who occasionally needs to pull a trailer full of stuff.
I rather like the utility of a towbar. I stumbled in to towbar ownership many years ago when I bought a car that had one fitted for a previous owner. Now I wouldn't be without one on any family bus. I've fitted my own a few times now.
Those Subarus are a bit spoiled for by the weirdo owners they seem to attract who are absolutely utterly convinced that they're the best and fastest cars that have every existed or will ever exist, with supercar smashing performance. There was one on here for a while posting in every single thread about how much better his Subaru was than whatever car was being discussed.
I did drive a three litre automatic arse peck B one once and it was fine. Thirsty, slow, but fine. Manual probably better but hard to see why you'd want one for more than about a grand these days?

How about a bit of retro barge action?

I had a 2.6 version of one of these. It was the first car that I owned that would comfortably sit at 120mph.

My late mother had a fairly major accident in one of those big Vauxhalls on holiday in Scotland.
A French couple coming the other way at night assumed that priorite a droite applied throughout the EU, so turned right straight across in front of her without stopping or even slowing.
The car saved her life, though she did have a fractured sternum and seat belt burns from the accident.
The car was a write off, as was her confidence driving at night.

Either you have a very lofty standard for speed in big busses, or it wasn't a Spec B
