Dreadful wording in the ad but that looks absolutely brilliant.

Looks the part. Might even be ULEZ compliant?
I can confirm that it is. Khan loves V8s.

nerd 11th Gen Crown, the Royal Saloon should mean it's more of the "entry" level but the amount of toys it doesn't feel like it, then you had the Athlete sportier version and the Majesta luxury version with different body and available with a V8 at the top. Last of the Crown's to be available with the JZ engines and also to have two-tone paint which I really love, the auto might be a 4sp but someway through the model's lifespan they did put in a 5sp auto.
The 12th gen that followed was a completely reworked car introducing the V6 xGR engines and 6sp auto's.

At least you know that the EML light is not broken wink
Is it running hotter than it should in pic 22? Most cars have it so at operating temp the needle is in the middle?

EML as exhaust sensor. Sure it is mate, that's why you've not sorted it before sale.

The irony with these of course being that it very well might just need an exhaust sensor... Like the exhaust gas temperature sensors that requires the engine to be dropped due to the absolutely insane packaging.

Starter motor? Engine out.
Engine vacuum pipes? Engine out.
Turbo actuators? Engine out.
I think even a few of the oxygen sensors need the engine to come out.

When I was doing my apprenticeship on these we had about 15 bays, 5 engine platforms and they were all CONSTANTLY in use... And this was when they were new...

Such a shame. I guess that's why they're so cheap!

90 is the norm, although you'd think it would sit at (90) twelve o'clock as it looks odd over at two.

That's so minty fresh. Stuff new cars, get that properly protected from the elements and put it to work.

Wonder what it's worth.

Mega spec 5.5 V8 S211 with big miles. Owner must be of this parish surely? Wheels are not to my taste but this is easily fixed.
Engine light on and error code made me think of Escy and his wife's Jaguar.
One for Stegel to pass comment if he reads it, but that sounds to be 'world of pain' if it still has an error on that bank over a year after the big bill in the picture. It would have to be cheap.
Each bank has two cam adjusters, and on each side one is easy to replace and the other less easy due to restricted access. Replacing just one as part of the works on the invoice could be down to it only requiring one at the time, so perhaps replacing another, even with a faff due to access, could resolve the issue easily. The adjusters leak oil through the body of the adjuster, rather than just via the gasket, so you can get oil in the wiring connector too, which causes issues.

However, at that mileage chain stretch could also be causing the fault, which is not going to be quite so easy, or cheap, to rectify! (Being an 08 car it should be past the fragile cam sprocket era, so hopefully we can discount that inherent defect). As Toby says, only worth bothering with if it can be bought cheaply and, at that mileage, it has already reached the price I’d be happy buying it at.

My car required a new oil cooler and thermostat (not a traditional type but electrically operated) at not far past 75k miles, and I replaced the cam solenoids as they were all weeping oil; I replaced the CPS as it was cheap and easy as a precaution due to them giving up the ghost and causing starting issues. It’s a lovely engine in the 211 but does require some looking after.

Mileage seems to bounce about a bit in the photos. Looks like the dealer has run it himself for a while.

Nonetheless very nice and a rare occurance of a car actually being between £1 and £5k on this thread.

The JZ engined manual Athlete's are pushing towards £20k now and the Athlete's in general are £12~14K ish for good ones even with the auto's. Majesta's would be about the same with the V8's and alllllll the toys. Being a Royal counts against it compared to other Crown's but tbh that one just looks bloody comfortable with proper tyres & suspension and it is all original so the toys will work (no nav in this one to show you ocean), being the 3.0L will attract some JZ tax as it should be a 2JZ-FE so non-turbo which should help keep the drift crowd away and it's not the wheezy 2.0 1G-FE. I'll probably be wrong but maybe £6k due to the nicheness but could reach upto £10k given the condition and mileage. I haven't got a brochure for this gen's Royal yet but it's on the list.

No matter how slow (if it had the 2.0) a smooth 6-pot and the lovely seats etc would be great.

I really want an ex-taxi Crown Comfort.
