I could not live with that on a long term basis, but I would really like to use it for a tour of the UK for a month or two. That dealers website - If you ignore the pictures and descriptions and looked only at the prices, it could almost be an estate agency rather than car sales.

That has been for sale for what seems several millenia.
The mileage in the photos is from 2021. No idea what's going on here, maybe a combination of doesn't really want to sell, can't deal with messers, hard to deal with seller, car not as describedRusty Old-Banger said:
This makes my teeth itch. Just why? Is the steering wheel f
ked underneath? Why not spend 3 seconds straightening the cover? Makes it look cheap.
Why keep the central console cubby open? Just looks broken/missing.
Also, the cover above the central air vents.
The centre console looks to be missing the lid or 'phone insert. That steering wheel though.

This has been on car and classic before, I thought it was the same one, an import , but the other pictures have gone from the advert. The one still linked shows it on its foreign plate.https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1852179
Congratulations Pete, lovely purchase.
Ref the W140 - lots of ‘flowery pish’ in the advert as some say in this part of the world. Ultimately might be a decent rolling project and a V12 is always a special thing.
The CLS really is a nice thing. My only worry would be the engine type still being in the danger zone prone to premature failure; I think the revised units were late 2006/07 onwards but still a very attractive thing at the miles/money.

It has an advert on Autotrader dating back to November 2024, with about 5k fewer miles on the clock and an asking price just under £12k. With the mileage and missing bits and pieces it’s rather a stretch, it will be interesting to see where the auction lands. https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1852179

Phwoar. Criminal how few CLS exist outside of the grayscale .
They are truly horrendous examples for cracking.
I recall standing beside my CLS, after fitting a second set of those rims due to the first giving up after they had already been welded, talking to a delivery driver. I could hear a faint hiss of air escaping. Another f
king cracked alloy wheel. Replaced the whole lot with some aftermarket 19" rims and never had the issue again. I've 8 of those original AMG rims somewhere in the warehouse gathering a lot of dust.

I'd just like to thank the thread for alerting me to my new acquisition:

Purchased from Mike over on the MBClub UK forum, a pleasure to deal with. A couple of little niggles but a lovely drive. Now need to get my finger out and sell the W211...
The advert for this was not the best, I think that helped keep the price low. Some saloons on sale at the moment at 5k + just seem massively overpriced.Purchased from Mike over on the MBClub UK forum, a pleasure to deal with. A couple of little niggles but a lovely drive. What made you change from the saloon? I understand the extra boot space makes it a much more useful every day car, I find estates easier to reverse park too.

Exactly that - I've been procrastinating for about a year over replacing the W211 but finding something that has the same combination of ride comfort, pace, refinement and room at a sensible price proved difficult. Plus petrol E class estates are quite hard to find (I would have considered the S212 but they only seem to come in diesel flavour which aren't ULEZ-compatable in my price range). As the saying goes, "I know what I like.."

Does your saloon have a panoramic roof?
