Probably not really - 200hp and about 350Nm of torque.

Fantastic purchase nonetheless though!
230, sir! I can only presume the other 150 horsepower missing from the spec sheet is used to run the air con.

Thank you. It had been stood for a few months and had some stale fuel in it. Needs a few things fixing and a good wash still.
Stale fuel? If the American car maintenance videos on YT are to be believed the oil will have turned to treacle 50 yards from the garage so best get that changed too. biggrin

Sell the reg to pay for some m-parallels, sell the current wheels and tyres to pay for new tyres for m-parallels, get manual conversion done - job jobbed.

Bonnet mascot... on a Volvo? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/306737590647

Unfortunately the mascot is NOT included in the sale! Seller presumably already has drilled a hole for it into the bonnet of his V70 hehe

Nasty wheels. Do all their headlinings do that?
Yes. Based on my 2001 example having done so. Not terribly expensive to fix. The adhesive and foam breaks down over time.

I love the eccentricity, but would sir really wish to change one's own gears, I hear the erstwhile bargeiste CharlesdeGaulle, remarking.

Also, deal breaker.

Please note the bonnet mascot and the private plate do not go with the car. A black rubber grommet will be fitted to the bonnet once the mascot is removed

I have a real soft spot for the S80, but that's a £1500 car.

From what I have read changing one's own gears in a Volvo of this era is a better idea than relying on the fragile staff!

But a mascot or grommets is a real no from me.

If the eccentric owner has adorned it with that and thinks a rubber grommet is acceptable then lord knows what else it endured over the years. As said, £1500 motor.

I rather like that, even the small wheels - plenty of soft sidewall for comfort.

I did consider one in 2.4 auto for £850 in 2016. I cannot see one priced for more than £999.

The observation was a doff of the cap to the stalwarts of this thread during its heyday. However, I did actually own a V70T 2.4L in Mistral Green, which was spanish.

I lived in Knightsbridge around the turn of the century and mascots on cars were a common sight. Always a "wealth whispers" type car being driven by a horse or hound, or her husband.

Presumably the mascot must be removed to avoid it falling into the hands of someone who is not an honourable member of the soggy biscuit and walnut ticklers society, lest the privileges conferred be abused.
