They aren't fast. I just about managed to put some distance on an NC MX5 in a straight line.
.
Was yours broken? should mange 60 in 5.2-5.5secs and 155mph, that's not slow really.
Mid sixes for a first gen Cayenne S so not slow but not fast and certainly not fast for 15mpg. That's what 340bhp and 2.2 tons will do for you I suppose. The turbo was mid 5s and probably felt much stronger on a roll. The engine was very very very good though, fabulously smooth and keen to rev which just made me a bit sad it was bolted to a thoroughly mediocre 6 speed auto and strapped to an elephant.

The 3.2 is pretty pathetic by all accounts, and the brochure has it using even more fuel than the 4.5 presumably because it has to be thrashed everywhere.

V6 had to work hard, so mpg was appalling. When new we had to make sure they ran on super unleaded to give them a fighting chance, they hated low octane fuel. And yes, the S used to return a better mpg overall

Does that slate green E39 have a bit of rust festering on the top of the outer sills?

Regarding liking weird BMWs an Autotrader keyword search threw up a 3 series fastback Coupe SUV pseudo offroader, a concept that offends me, but the spec., colour and leather trim, and tyres with some sidewall appealed much. It was around double thread.

Looks taut - that engine went in S and SL's, it's more suited to this car.

335i GT Luxury MANUAL. What a weird car that I very much want.
For some reason I really like that, but reading about HPFP and Injector issues on N54 engines puts me off!
Then you'll be glad to know it's an N55! No piezoelectric injectors like on the N54. Instead, these ones sometimes like to spin their rod bearings!
Thanks for raising my hopes then promptly dashing them in just 3 sentences!

That took me back. I bought a 1994 C280 in 2000 so mine had a lovely creamy straight 6. I'm pretty sure that one will have a V6.

I just realised my post did not quote the right one!
My comment was in relation to the 535i GT manual. Hopefully makes more sense with regards to how fast it issmile

Yep, spotted that a few weeks ago - seems a good proposition as a lot of those extras are only normally seen on the 550i's with their hot troublesome V8 engines.

Agree, it'll be a V6 unless it was one of the last IL6 manufactured and took time to get registered.

Four seats... interesting but slightly useless.

It’s the parcel shelf - storage space when the seats are folded down. My daughter’s Golf does the same, and beats having the thing in the house when you’re doing some load lugging.

They look like the Works Service ones, too - so probably cost a fortune.
