What a lovely old bruiser. That squared-off styling has aged very nicely.
I struggle to soften my eye to the bolt on atrocities.

A nice old thing but the (huge) gaps in servicing and periods of not being used make it one for the brave I think, but as far as time warp cars and find another this may be a rarity - lots hope it hasn’t spent 35y gently fizzing away …

Its interesting what BHP is made by an XJR then and now.
221 BHP in 1989.
542 BHP in 2014.
A bit of a change in only 25 years

£19,995 for a 1989 car, £22,995 for a 2013 car with 69k miles.
I know which I would have

200.000 miles and the only thing on this Lexus that looks it is the licence plate. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/397516613295

Seems reasonable considering how prices are going for these

Driver's seat looks like it's done double the mileage, or sat in the sun.

Otherwise, seems pretty nice for a 25 year old car.

Big fan of that. Nice spec and colours, zone-friendly and a fair price.

Sounds as though it's in need of a damn good Italian tune up.

Great spot which I'd have bought if it had heated seats

What a brilliant, brilliant thing. Surely a bargain?
That does indeed seem a bargain, looks to be in great condition. A beauty of a waft mobile.

Vive la différence, my Range Rover has heated seats and I don't think I've ever used them. Obviously being a Land Rover they probably don't work anyway, so at least I've avoided that disappointment.

Low miles smoker that could be very nice with a bit of love. Weird ad.
Have to see how MOT-pass the recent welding is.
Hmm, it failed on the structural rusty bits on 28th March (Friday) and passed a retest on 1st April (Tuesday). I'd want to check it very carefully.

Nice colours though.

Happy Friday.
Not an XJR but 5.0 V8. 2011.
2.5 x thread, not high miles, BRG over tan sir ? Just think of the fuel you could burn taking it to six figure miles wink

GoL remind us of your bargain BCA C351, iirc it was much less than the one above ?

Lovely that! Weird that the lacquer is peeling off the wood trim in places though, I wonder if it's been damp inside or something. Either way what a fantastic combo.

I may be castigated for this opinion, but I wouldn't count the XJ40 one as a 'proper' XJR as it had the same engine as the standard car at the time, it just got the different body kit and wheels. It was only the following 1995 generation X300 that got a supercharger and 320 bhp that would be a proper XJR as we think of them now.
