Awesome. I saw that and thought it looked like a lovely spec. Ticks a lot of boxes as a jack of all trades motor.

Let us know how you get on.
Indeed - and some even have a factory towbar and are a decent towing vehicle. In my mind it's the spiritual successor to the W/S211 E500 hehe

Sometimes regret selling mine, better in lots of ways than the 3 series that replaced it. Rare car.
Fortunately this thread seems to attract the connoisseurs of the automotive world who can find the positives in any vehicle. All our geese are swans!

I had its Vectra estate stablemate (for those who don't know, the Signum is the hatchback version of the Vectra estate... They both had a longer wheelbase than the Vectra hatch) and it was a good car. I did 50k miles in mine.

The 2.8 turbo would be my choice for giggles, however many of these have probably had a hard life as it was insanely cheap performance years back.

Happy Friday losers.

C6 V6 essence; £12,000

For that price does it come with introductions to Up'N'Down and HubNut, or a retained mechanic at Chevronics?

I'm sure it's lovely, and I don't think I've seen a V6 petrol C6 before.

Okay so it's not quite in thread price, but we're all chatting away on the other place now anyway. This place needs content!

I'm collecting this 152k mile Porsche Panamera 4S 4.8 V8 on Saturday.

Kinda bargey? Cheap and probably a smoker!

It's so bargey!

The interior seems to be aging quite nicely and that's the bit you get to look at so that's a win.

They occasionally go for shed money. It's hard to justify a whole extra £10k, unless it had a 5 figure mileage.

I keep coming back to old DB7s because the idea of smoking an Aston as my shed is so appealing. They're so cheap now but I really don't think I could stick the i6 with a 4 speed auto, those old boxes absolutely ruin every car they are fitted to. Even the somewhat better ZF5 in the V12 manages to make it at least 75% less appealing than a manual.

Absolutely. But an early car on those wheels is just so handsome that I'd live with it being a bit rubbish.

Six hours later and not a sign of a comment about a one-way train ticket and a Ginsters...
Enjoy the experiences that it will bring.
It's a one way flight actually! Located in NI, so going to do a bit of a roadtrip!

Great stuff 0a. I can't recall a one-way flight to collect a barge, though perhaps someone has before.

That DB7 has a sensible reserve and those wheels are cool.

So the £1k XK8 (well £1300 with fees) is here and it's a mixed bag.

Positives:
Bodywork and paint remarkably good for one of these. Rust repairs in 2010/12 and donewell.
Interior much better than pics
Premium audio!
Boot opened fine, roof is sluggish, fluid needs topping up
Loads of history, looks like it went to Arun for years.

Negatives:
Rear 1/4 glass detached from mechanism so doesnt'go down right. Can be done manually.

And the big one. Gearbox fault. Fine in reverse, wants to be in 3rd to go forward. Bugger. I'll get the codes off it, there are loads of non serious things that can cause it but at 110k it's the right sort of miles for a ZF5 to play up.

Paint looks like a brand new BMW hehe
