Oh, a guilty pleasure to be sure. Thank god it’s not the V6 or I’d be on the phone right now.

Noice.

I went scuttling off to the classifieds and can see a few slightly leggy V8's, any reason you went for that one in particular?
I just liked the colours and spec, and talking to the seller I got good vibes. It had one owner up until almost all its miles and 2025.

Hopefully it was an outlier but the one in Beaulieu hasn't coped well with constant door opening and playing with, shame as it's one of the coolest looking ones in that section.

Yes that’s an exceptional usage case. You’re in the realms of delivery vehicles and sliding doors there in terms of daily door openings - is that even allowed still ?, I know UPS trucks had them in recent times, but every double parked Amazon van has a normal door, and if they could squeeze some minute efficiency out they would be doing it.

Mate had a V6 manual Avantime as a daily for a couple of years not so long ago. He loved it, used it lots, toured France and Scotland in it. Was stabled with his Bristol Fighter and an owned from new Mitsubishi Evo. All sold now as he had to give up manual gearboxes sadly.

Agree the usage case is out of the oridinary, however the Avantime has been there the same amount of time as the Mk1 Mondeo and mk2 Cavalier which have both faired much better. The MG ZS that was next to the Avantime basically fell apart almost immediately and I don't think I saw it with all 4 doors working, it's now been replaced by the 405 cloud9

I follow him on twitter but not really been on for the last year or so. I remember when he sold the EVO VI. Very nice car as with the Fighter.

Cheers, didn’t realise that. Sounds like a fair comparison.

"Any bidders with less than 20 feedback with had bids removed" says the seller.

Which ironically is 17 more than he has himself!

I've just pointed it out to him, wonder what he will reply with. "Because people with less than 20 feedback are untrustworthy"? hehe

Having sold a car on eBay I can confirm there are plenty of scam buyers so perhaps this is intended to avoid them... However the scam buyers I encountered had decent amounts of feedback and appeared to be accounts that had been used normally, left dormant for a few years and then acquired by scammers.

Hold on chaps - if you were faced with the above three cars and asked to choose one to get into to examine, out of those three which would you choose??

Wow, excellent, you will have to start a readers car thread on this, really keen to read up on the ownership experience, love these cars!

Okay so it's not quite in thread price, but we're all chatting away on the other place now anyway. This place needs content!

I'm collecting this 152k mile Porsche Panamera 4S 4.8 V8 on Saturday.

Kinda bargey? Cheap and probably a smoker!

It's so bargey!

Like a good spring roll, crispy on the outside, soft in the middle. Late Friday gift.
Ran one of these as a daily for a while, was perfectly comfortable in modern contemporary traffic twenty-ish years ago.

Having a bit of a break from pretending to work...

Seems cheap at £2,250.00 but a bit frilly on the arches.
