A very attractive car in those colours on those wheels. Looks tidy.

R500, pre-big-tax, nice colour smaller wheels and with a bit of warranty.

That's a proper smoker family car at a proper smoker price. Love it.

nice - would have taken a look at that if it was local to me, and then sneakily taken another look the very morning after to see if the suspension was still level..............................

Nice spot W00DY. That would be ideal for me as a weekend workhorse/camping wagon. Does he want a Toerag in p/ex? scratchchin

20mpg on a good day would be a tough pill to swallow, but i reckon that would also make a nice tow barge for the tin-villa
Kind of whacky alternative to a volvo xc60

The Panther DeVille was the other oddity I was thinking of, I can see the limited appeal but applaud that the company existed for a while in various guises to do such things.

There are plenty of them on Autotrader with the 320CDI or 350D engine that give a somewhat beter MPG.
I had the 320 CDI in an E class estate a while ago and it was fine

One idiot + BCA access + XK8 for comedy money equals....

A short MOT XK8 convertible with a supposedly non operating roof and non opening boot. I think someone pressed the valet button instead of the boot release button, and I was willing to bet real money on it hehe
This had a somewhat unhappy ending. The roof was fine, although it needed a small top up of CHF (let us not wonder where the existing CHF went) and the boot was indeed the valet button. The car was lovely and not rusty with heaps of history but....

The gearbox was indeed shagged and it was not the ATF level. Smoker turds are cheap enough right now that I don't want to sink time and effort into this one so it's gone away.

Hammer price was £1k, with fees (now I'm on the costliest tier) it was £1,378 and I sent it back from whence it came for £1300 so I got out more or less clean. I could probably have sold it privately for more, and I considered getting a used gearbox and rebuilding it to fit but no... time for the next turd!

Was that back via WBAC, or straight back thro the doors of BCA ?
Sounds like you got away with it, oh well nothing ventured nothing gained.

Sent it to WBAC, they're all the same thing anyway.

Realise that WBAC offer under auction value and BCA then pile em high. I just didn t know if you’d bothered with the WBAC automatic price gouging when you turn up, or if you skipped the middleman.

I have had one of those before, a 2002 a6 allroad that I bought with a brave 180k on the clock.
It tested my patience frequently and extensively.

But when it was working, it was a wonderful thing

Not entirely sure if this is big enough for this thread, but picked this up a couple of weeks ago for my lad for his first motor. He's got good taste.

Small engine, 318Ci, but drives so well for a 26 year old thing, second owner had it 25 years.
