You should be able to get a refund on insurance within 14 days, they moan then you tell them they can’t keep a percent cancellation fee and you eventually get it back.
Unfortunate, however now you know why they wanted you to pay a deposit.

Yep, I was fully expecting to do some welding. I specifically asked about the underneath and was told it was good. I wouldn't have put my kids in it. I don't think a 300k south England car would look as bad as that 130k Scottish car.

Exactly. I've got the refund already so nothing more than a morning wasted and I do genuinely feel bad for welching on a deal having not viewed beforehand. Lesson learned. Its more that they last forever, if you keep them somewhere hot and dry.

They should be chucking that into a proper disposal auction I think. I know they write trade sale and everything else on the invoice but it's still proper money so I'd be surprised if they could completely get out of their obligations as a dealer selling to the public.

Its just showing off driving something like this in bad weather.
If employees claim they can’t make it to work, you can be at their house in 15 min, no skiving from work in bad weather when the Mega Cruiser is on the loose.

He mentioned a dint in the bonnet but there was a much bigger one at the bottom of the tailgate where a trailer hitch had obviously been reversed into and there was significant rust behind the rear numberplate and other quick rattle can repairs on the external arches all of which were much more concerning than the small ding in the bonnet.
I think he knew full well it was worse than described underneath too, it's not like you even have to jack them up to have a look.
Mental thing is it probably is worth atleast £10k just not to me.
