Merc seems VERY cheap for what looks like a lovely car.

The Merc is on 17" inch wheels so should ride well. It does seem very cheap. C207 coupes are on the list for the rust-from-the-inside-out rear subframes, for which I gather there's more problems getting Merc to pick up the bill for the replacement than previously. It'll be the M272 engine, but shouldn't be affected by the chocolate balancer-shaft sprocket issue, though it looks like it is the version with direct injection, so that might cause some amusement.

We have traditionally loved a convertible but have not owned one for several years. I've never been a huge fan of the SC styling but ambivelance sums up how I feel about it rather than hostile. Creamy smooth V8, wonderful autobox, special feeling interior and the reliability of a house brick make these a compelling choice as an unusual daily wafter for me.

If the Japanese manufacturers could more consistently turn out good looking cars there would be little reason to buy anything else. That SC should be the absolutely obvious choice and yet... I've no interest whatsoever in owning one because it has the visual appeal of a wart.
