Fabulous. I'm not really a silver guy, but it works well here.

You'd have more chance of surviving a frisbee rescue from a power station than that gearbox lasting more than a tank of fuel (if it's still on the original)
ZF8s must be about the most reliable automatic in existence.
"Sealed for life" and 200k miles with big power and 2+ tonnes. I wouldn't risk it.
ZF8s in FFRRs aren't sealed for life, there's a schedule.

That Dutton is awesome. the ultimate go anywhere vehicle.
Perfect for the south of England - Wheels when there is a drought, and boatish for when it floods.

I'm sure it is, but it's hard to see that alongside an Interceptor for similar money and not choose the Jensen!

Lush. Crossposting from the Supercars spotted thread where I try to cause chaos by using the "some rarities" part of the title.

Saw this interceptor again, big AP brakes and pullback roof. Front bumper looked off in the light last time (from afar), it has been knocked but suspect it will get sorted soon.

Not sure the R at the end of Interceptor is as the factory, presumably whoever modernised it added it.
Restomod apparently

I had a brief Google to satisfy my own interest and everything I could find points to even the FFRR gearbox being filled for life. Do you have better info?

Obviously with FFL gearboxes there is usually an enthusiast unofficial service interval/procedure but if you go to a main dealer they'll usually advise against fluid changes. My theory is that some dealers have been burned by people having a gearbox fail and blaming the service.

Any insight as to what the schedule is please?
I have the oil already, just the filter pan to buy and some idea on when I should change it.
Presently on 130k, but it is running as smooth as silk and I am hearing that I should leave it alone.

I can't find it but I think ZF says 80,000 miles / 150,000 kms; around there anyway.

Agreed, I saw a red coupe at the weekend, first time in years I'd seen one. Lovely cars.

In way of a Friday look what you’ve missed way, I was perusing the regional auction that GoL alluded to, and past sales include this.
Seems really quite good value at thread plus a bit.
