I owned an LS 400 back in the 1990s. The dealer loaned me a GS300 when mine was in for service. Not a patch on the LS 400
Nothing is...I'm going to struggle to replace my LS460 simply because everything else feels rough by comparison. Sure, it's not a soul-stirring sports car (380+ bhp never felt so unremarkable) but it definitely wins at being a comfortable place to sit for several hundred miles at a time. Well over 100k miles and the seats are still in very good condition despite my ample frame doing about half of those miles.

It finally died in 2009 at 213,000. So your friend's car has life left in it.
I would have another now if it weren't for dog ownership.
Yes, I could put a rug on the back seat, but stopping a warm wet tongue attached to 36 kilos of excited dog from hitting me in the left ear when I brake hard is the issue.
This little JDM oddity is in a no reserve auction on C&C and likely to stay within thread budget. Was tempted until I learned it can't become registered as ULEZ compliant.

That is a very funny little thing. If it's 2005 how can it be impossible to make it ULEZ compliant?
https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/2005-toyota...That’s really odd, I wonder if 2006 is the arbitrary date that these databases are built on to apply charges as my ‘06 Crown is compliant for everywhere I’ve checked.
Just a quick side note I’ve been on a mini-break with the family and it’s been so nice in the Crown, it just does everything right. We arrived in York yesterday and have done bits and bobs after setting off from Southampton on Monday and I’ve only just now showing slightly under half a tank. Not bad for a 311bhp 3.5V6 with only VVTi to help.

Because it's never been sold in Europe Toyota won't give you a CoC for it and only Japanese cars first registered after 1st Jan 2006 automatically get a ULEZ pass is how I understand it. Think handing in a CoC with the correct numbers on is the only way that TfL will register a car as compliant. stedaley said:
