It's not getting any better looking with age is it.
I'd also want a good look at that OS Front for accident damage because that panel fit is not "period correct" and I don't think that wing is quite the same colour and finish as the rest of the car, it's very hard to tell in photos.
Hate to say it but if it's really nice £10k doesn't seem unreasonable, when did you last see one that wasn't a total wreck and/or a flaccid six pot model.

In fairness I think it may just be the light/angle as it’s not nearly as pronounced in the other pictures, albeit the bonnet is sitting just a touch proud on the left corner as you look at the car straight on:
Whilst I still need to recalibrate to 2026 pricing I’d tend to agree that £10k seems alright if that is a genuine, clean car these days.
Anyone hoping to find no paint or bodywork on a 35 year old car is going to come away disappointed anyway, you just need to have a poke to make sure there is nothing more sinister underneath.
Buyers guides for older and classic cars are often hopeless, and possibly why so many half a clue dreamers never actually go through with a purchase, they're full of advice like "if there are gaps in the history walk away" and "if there are signs of non original paint walk away". OK old chap, best of luck finding your three decade old car that has never had any paint repairs or had a single invoice lost.
£10k is the new £5k now, and W140 S500s were £5k cars back when thread started.
ETA - I think that dealers stock is pretty much all fairly priced, they must actually want to sell cars and make money.

I agree, a switch back to the sensibly sized OE wheels would do wonders for its appearance, even if I do like the Eltanin wheels.
On the bonnet alignment, it looks to have the same small adjustable buffers on the slam panel as fitted in the 129, and maybe it’s my imagination but the one visible looks shiny and new. I replaced them on my 95 SL and while I thought I’d adjusted them perfectly when I fitted them, after a dozen close and opens of the bonnet, the first time I walked back to the car when out and about the fit looked like it had been bumped, so they are hard to get “just right”.
