This looks fantastic. Over thread and no diligence done but some great photos of a beautiful car https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/278343360207

That's magnificent, what an interior.

Agree.

Absolutely love that!

It’s in Aberdeen which always brings concerns about rust but the recent MOT history isn’t too bad at all.

The dealer selling it is in Fraserburgh which is likely to mean an epic road trip for a new buyer.

Fly to Aberdeen and then I'm not sure what, its got plenty of adventure involved.

That sold on PH auctions for around £12k inc fees.

Quite a drop in price at less than £8k.

Just googled that. That is the last place I would ever buy a car from, climate-wise, unless I had proof it had been kept in a hermetically sealed garage for the last 40 years biggrin

Do any fellow losers use their barges for non barge appropriate things?

As well as being used as possibly the world's least efficient daily runabout, in recent weeks my X300 has been pressed into service as a dog carrier for the 1300 mile round trip from Hampshire to the Scottish Highlands and back:
sorry for dreadful photo quality (it's a still from a video), but you an just about see a pointy dog snout looking out through the rear window as we make our way along the 3 miles of off road track from the main road to our accommodation:

and been used as a bike wagon; frame strapped to the back, wheels on the back seats, toolbox in the footwell:

Despite being pressed into jobs beneath its station, it did it all without complaint or fault, and even after I left it standing unused for three weeks while I was away working in South Korea it fired up straight away as if it had been running the day before.

My V70 carries a kayak (2.8m) inside it for local trips with just me.
Longer trips or more people / luggage will involve roof bars and straps.
I chose it and the V50 before that as amongst other things the passenger seat tilts forward for long loads.
I can also confirm it will fit inside a Corsa for a trip down the road but wouldn’t want to risk harsh braking.

How so, it was supposedly via Cazoo.
Or was that a scam too ?

In summary, yes! My E39 M5 was used as a delivery van for a prop shaft for another car I owned. The prop shaft needed to be picked up from Luxembourg...

Excellent choice of delivery van, though as nothing in earth is as fast as a white van man I wonder if even an M5 was fast enough to keep up with other delivery drivers.

username seems appropriate

That is quite impressive load lugging.

while i do get a bit of a kick out of the novelty of using a 30 year old jaguar saloon to fulfil duties for which it was never intended, I am seriously considering moving it on for something a bit more practical.
It's a lovely old thing and while I try to be pragmatic about the reality that cars used daily for all sorts of tasks will get scratches, car park dings etc, it is still a bit stressful being constantly worried about scratches from the bike rack, or getting the interior grubby despite having a well fitted load liner etc.
I'm trying to adopt the gallic laissez-faire approach, but I'm probably only 50% there, and that other 50% is pushing me towards getting another A6 allroad or similar
