I'm trying to adopt the gallic laissez-faire approach, but I'm probably only 50% there, and that other 50% is pushing me towards getting another A6 allroad or similar
I had an A6 quattro Avant for similar duties but it was my only car, and I took fright after the a/c compressor seizing and a big bill from the garage inc scraping the remnants of the accessory belt from every grooved pulley it got stuck in, and a looming bill for suspension arms w irreplacable bushes.I harbour a guilty secret for a 110 Defender but it would be a bit OTT for carrying a spaniel and occasional kayak/bike/camping trip and in reality I think that with the absolute minimum age now being 10yo and late decent ones being >=30k the Ineos Grenadier (used) looks actually similar value, the low end is now 40-45 with the occasional one less.
I think for leisure and load lugging the small van idea is actually the most sensible route (if you don’t have multiple offspring) but that ain’t no barge.
Sorry to divert thread, as you were.
If an L322 is now firmly a barge would a Grenadier be one for the future ? If you get the Fieldmaster spec it has a nice interior, all mod cons, auto, BMW straight six 3.0, decent looking alloys and plenty of sidewall.

And it’s as good looking as a G-Wagen.

Manual in listing, auto bottom of description. Bah! Would have been a bargain. Looks lovely.KadettE said:
This looks fantastic. Over thread and no diligence done but some great photos of a beautiful car https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/278343360207

I bought it after a few glasses of wine and after struggling to register only had 15 seconds to put a bit in. Love it.
Weird to see a fake auction.
Tempted to go have a look at this LS430 but I walked past one just the other day and these front lights really don't suit it very much. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/147554410930

Hmmm - driveway trader? The only feedback he's had is for a "2012 Lexus RX 450h 3.5 V6 Advance CVT 4WD 5dr (Pan Roof) Suv Pet/Hybrid"
The recent service history is from a garage in Hythe. Could be Manchester, could be Kent, either way not Stanmore, unless that's the garage proprietor's name, not his location. So backs up your idea of driveway trader. As for the headlights, who cares? What matters is what it looks from the inside, not standing looking at it.
Having done 200,000 miles in LS400s, I can say that they are a lovely drive. If only I didn't have a dog.....

The garage is in NW10, not far from Stanmore. Amidst his other feedback, there's one car and that's from over a year ago. I'd say that's not much evidence of a driveway trader. As for the headlights, who cares? What matters is what it looks from the inside, not standing looking at it.

If he is driveway trader, then buy on condition unless there's evidence of a quick markup. Major cambelt service was done last year, and the car averages c.5000 miles per annum. Doesn't look so bad ...

Looks pretty good to me with the only concern about the exhaust. If it presents a little scruffy then you never need worry about parking it anywhere. If he is driveway trader, then buy on condition unless there's evidence of a quick markup. apologies in advance that it's not within thread budget and I can't invoke the Friday exception, but this looks suspiciously cheap for a an almost perfectly thread spec L405:

what am I missing? Is it just because it's a very early L405, are they riddled with teething problems so no-one wants them?

Does look lovely though as you say with reasonable miles and price along with the perfect colour combination.
